Bournemouth Tickets - On Sale 4pm to 190+ Points

Fans originally got points for travel on club transport.

Not really fair for fans away from Teesside or ones needing special transport.

I meant that the actual details of the scheme were put in place with out consultation. At the time it was announced I had a meeting with the guy who was brought in as ticket office manager and he very much told me that the details of how the scheme worked had been decided by the club alone.
Derek Mathews is the name of the former ticket office manager that put the system in place. He used his experience to come up with some of the specifics - points for Travel Club etc but left a mechanism so that those changes could be reversed or altered and that has happened.
The points are in 2 year cycles aren't they. So, it does partly reset.
It could be time for a big debate in the summer possibly but it seems to me the priority points have been mostly working. People always try to bend rules and cheat systems don't they but surely most people are honest in their intentions in the way they use priority points.

I think its worked well. Much better than I expected.

But from posts on here (which are presumably similar views on the other forums/boards) there is a strong feeling that the system doesn't work fairly so perhaps it is time for a review of how the system works, a review which includes the Supporters Forum?

Actually, I think most people posting on here have been approving of how well it works. But I would agree it is something that has to be constantly reviewed, doesn't it.

Overall it does work well , and a huge improvement on the previous 'free for all' when away tickets were released.

We were just looking at an agenda for the next meeting - I will add this
But if anyone ever wants something raised with Middlesbrough Supporters Forum and therefore with the club please do make contact via the Boro.Support website - you don't need to wait for me to post a thread on here.

Can the forum ask the club to give more information on how they thought it was right to bypass the points system and allow Season Ticket holders to buy tickets for family/friends for the Spurs/Chelsea matches?

Specifically how many is the "many" that the club said asked for it and why the club didn't consult with the Supporters forum before deciding to go ahead with it.

Would someone from the club who is able to answer those questions be at the next meeting?

I don't agree with the unattainable Gold status, that's my only real problem with the points system.

I'm fine with not having it myself, as I've not been a season ticket holder long enough for it to matter, and I don't go to enough away matches for it to ever be an actual issue for me, but I do think it should be something that you can earn after a set period of time, rather than it only ever being available to the people who have continously renewed since the Riverside opened.

It's coming up 27 years now, there's surely a sizeable portion of the crowd who wouldn't have even been able to go in 1995.
I was 2 years old when the stadium opened.

It's a fair point and something that should be included in any review of the system - perhaps the few of us ( I guess it's somewhere between 2-3000 people now) could be rewarded in a different way?

We did ask and it came as a result of season card holders requesting this. Lots of people contacted them through the season saying they wanted to take guests and/or move to be with other people.
We did find out that the numbers were nothing like as high as feared. 4000 from 16 000 season card holders v Chelsea.
But you have to take their word for it because why else would they do it? It makes far more work for the club etc.

You've not communicated that as far as I'm aware Rob, both myself & @BoroFur asked you about it but unless I've missed a post somewhere (and if I have I apologise) it's not been communicated.

4000, ie 25% is quite a lot.

Are there no concerns from the Supporters Forum that the club just went ahead and did it without even consulting with the forum, if not fine that's the end of it but it seems odd to me that the forum weren't even advised of it let alone consulted.

25% is very high. As a season card holder I found it nuts we could by extra tickets and bypass the points system.

How are people making a case for this and how many does it take to ask to get the club to throw normal rules out of the window?

Season card holders seem to include a vocal minority - those that don't like ticket offers and those that complained about a competition a few years ago. How do these unelected people get to dictate the running of the club?

I am a season card holder and have over 200 points but don't begrudge offers that get more people in the ground

I can understand this for league games where we have a surplus of spare capacity but not for cup games.

Are you saying that 4,000 SC holders contacted the club before the Spurs game saying they wanted to buy extra tickets during an exclusivity period?

I agree re Gold Card.
I do however think that 2 years as SC holder is not loyalty enough for away priority. Or rather some recognition in points is made for longer standing SC holders.
The Gold thing is all or nothing. Give GC's some recognition/bonus or discount. This will cost less and less in time as they literally die off. My Dad is 86 by next season starts.
But also make the scheme points run over more than 2 rolling seasons.

I think most of the scheme has been progress and fair.

This is me, season ticket for 23 years, do every away game and can never achieve this status. Its irrelevant though for me in terms of getting tickets, not sure how many gold people we have now after such a long period. What happens when all the gold season card holders unfortunately pop their clogs. I am in favour that the longer you have had ticket the more loyalty you should get of course, anyone that has held a season ticket from ayresome park days is a saint. I was also told by the club there was no away season ticket this year at the start of the season, but apparently there is still, have to set alarm and go through the rat run login every time for away ticket, only benefit is getting to choose seat. The loyalty system works well ,or course everyone going to have a grip on their own biases but generally the more you back/follow/support boro and the more games you get to the greater priority you have in obtaining tickets, can get fairer than that really.

Does it?

My brother bought additional tickets for the Spurs and Chelsea games and didn’t get any additional points 🤷🏻‍♂️
Per MFC rules..
One ticket will be sold per ticketing account, with Priority Points distributed equally to each ticket holder (3 points for home league matches). Supporters can purchase on behalf of others by adding them to the ‘Friends and Family’ section of your online account.

There is no new away season ticket.
There is not going to be for the foreseeable.
Anybody who drops out cannot re enter.
The priority points scheme was introduced in place of it.
I got this information from the ticket office recently.
