Bournemouth Tickets - On Sale 4pm to 190+ Points

Whenever posts around tickets and priority points arise, it only ever seems to be people worrying unnecessarily, or issues with the principle of it rather than not actually getting a ticket, which i think shows the system works quite well.

obviously there will be the odd one but I don't think there has been huge swathes of people disadvantaged. (Anecdotal evidence only )
No season ticket holder would have an issue getting a ticket for a play off final at Wembley, there might be an issue if they let all season ticket holders have an extra ticket mind….😀

100% right - never ever please everyone but at least if fans are involved they can have some say and if it's not right some of the fingers can be pointed back at us.

A a caveat I would say it has to be a wider x section of fans than just the regulars who are part of the Supporters Forum.
How would you get a wider x section of fans?

I don't know not my field of expertise.

I'm sure that there are experts out there who conduct surveys and are able to facilitate use of local press etc to get more people involved.

It wouldn't be the first time in the world that a football group had consulted with fans and got their engagement so it's not like someone has to invent the wheel is it?

It costs some cash - but focus groups can be used say over Zoom or face to face for those based on Teesside. The money is for use of professionals who can manage the groups effectively.

There are fans representing all the major supporter groups, different stands, different demographics, different websites, diversity. It is a pretty good cross section now I think. It is far different from when you attended a meeting.

The club need to be involved as well though, not just a supporters survey.

I don't look at any of the other fan groups social media sites (those that have them), I've no idea how the group representative turns up at the meeting armed with the views of their particular group.

There is a website at Boro.Support. People generally email the site or contact by facebook or twitter. That is how the agenda is arrived at by fan contacts or through requests from different supporter groups/organisations/facebook/message boards etc.
One Boro is very active now for instance.
It is very easy to find the Middlesbrough Supporters Forum social media etc.

@rob_fmttm

would you be in favour of a joint review/reviews involving the club and the forum of (a) match ticket pricing and (b) how the points system works and whether it needs any adjustments?

That assumes the club would be willing to be involved although the bypassing of the forum to allow season ticket holders to purchase additional tickets without consulting or advising the forum suggests (to me) that club wouldn't be keen and would rather arbitrarily do what they want to do anyway.

By my calculations we have at least 25% chance of going to a Play Off Final - someone needs to discuss how tickets will be distributed. 40,000 fans will want to go. Season ticket holders will get a ticket, but what about the rest.

As a Gold Card holder, I don't think SC holders should have the right to buy more than their own seat, but they obviously should be guaranteed first opportunity to secure their own place.
I think the points system will really help who should get the next available places.

I think supporters have made it very clear to Boro that the majority of fans would want the priority points system and not guest tickets. This should more than outweigh any pressure by season card holders wanting guest tickets. That is what happened before Spurs and Chelsea - note that it turned out that only 4000 guest tickets were sold for Chelsea. Am sure it will be season cards and then priority points. Now lets get there. Nine games to go after this pause.

I think the fact its now on TV has eased the demand. To be fair they always give a small allocation yet I've never not got one living down south.

As for the possible playoff final. A season ticket holder should be allowed one ticket. That's it. I don't see why they should get more.

Then go onto priority points.

I too am surprised they made general sale and with over 400 left. When you consider 1,900 tickets were sold before general sale at Millwall and less than 900 for Bournemouth.

I expect some Boro fans are struggling financially, putting to game on Sky, made my mind up - it was going to be around 310 mile round trip. Planning on going to Swansea and Preston.

Last time against Norwich they quickly went on general sale, no priority points etc.

This time I would advise MFC to go through the Priority levels like they do for away tickets. Then general sale to people with MFC digital account - two tickets per account.

They had just over a week to sell all the tickets and I'm fairly sure everyone who wanted one got one, although some of us nearly didn't because of Ticketmaster.

Not surprised. I would have gone but for the timing. Traffic and trains as already been pointed out won’t be pleasant on bank holiday weekend.
