Conservative MP Peter Amess stabbed in Essex attack

Awful news. Sadly, it’s a new low point in the increasing polarisation and aggressiveness of our society.

More should remember we are humans first and foremost, and not defined by our political or cultural views.
 
Saddened to hear of the loss of David Amess. He will be remembered for his tireless work to prevent animal cruelty, to restore capital punishment, to prevent gay marriage, to ban abortion and to exit the EU. He was a model Conservative MP.

I have Rob and it's a terrible state of affairs that has made me angry at the hypocrisy of some on this board. Look at rule six of your board rules and then tell me even on this thread its not broken. The same people who were calling me slow and an idiot or bellend and are now wringing there hands over this tragedy yet still find time to hand out the kind of insults from behind their keyboards they wouldn't dare say face to face.

I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise. I've made a fair few daft and flippant comments on the board today. They were all posted before I'd heard about this awful thing. Sorry if they seemed insensitive. I just genuinely didn't know that this had happened and was just being my usual silly self.

I don't ever recall people saying string them up. Tory scum and evil tories needs to be put in the context of the conversations, ie when they've put infected people into carehomes leading to deaths. I personally don't go around calling them scum, and I call acts evil, not the whole party. So stop the virtue signalling and instead use this as a point to come together not further apart.

No this is not about me, and this is not a condolence page so the discussion can be broadened, you want to know where the seeds of these extremists are sown?, It's message boards spouting there hateful angry rhetoric.unchecked. This is the perfect time for posters on here to reflect on the tone and words of their posts. A kinder gentler politics indeed.
