Conservative MP Peter Amess stabbed in Essex attack

Unfortunately he has a point, but shouldn't have used this thread to raise that issue - only yesterday I got called "Lube Up Tory Boy" on here with a zombie looking photo of Thatcher

But now is certainly not the time to go into that... RIP Sir David Amess
so why did you?

Stick to the fact a man was murdered and likely for his political beliefs, that's all that matters.

So they aren’t Tory scum today., nobody wanting to string anyone up?No one going to mention that the Tory policy of divide and rule is creating these situations, or that brexit is at fault. Some People on here need to look at their belligerent attitude and language to fellow posters just because the they hold a different opinion.
And this is not point scoring,I referred to the language and tone of some people on a previous thread.
Someone has been stabbed!!!
Reflect on that.

That is in incredibly bad taste. I would take that down.

A dark day for Democracy, again. Killed, whilst doing his job.

Thats out of order. Making political capital out of a tragic event. No need.

Commiserations to his family. Horrific indeed.

Horrific to hear this. Who would want to do the job in this day and age. People are so entrenched and unwilling to listen that this will become more common if things don’t change

both sides of the house need to tone down the rhetoric.

What a shocking and terrible thing to happen.

Very weird that someone would try and make some political point about this given how similar it is to the awful Jo Cox MP murder. Seems likely that it's a societal problem rather than something to do with a particular ideology.

Below is what I got yesterday on this very forum - I'm not coming back on here, it's a Labour echo chamber and that's why awful stuff like this happens - both sides are so entrenched in their positions / views that they don't listen to each other

Rob needs to take a good look at himself as well, he lets most of the Labour posters go without any word / ban / caution

I hope he's OK. I may dislike Tories but this is just depressing. I hope he makes a swift and complete recovery and that whoever has done this is removed from the streets for a very long time.
You need to take a long hard look at yourself - it's people LIKE YOU, that's making this happen - total hypocrite

We have no idea why this person stabbed and ultimately killed Sir Amess, but it certainly was not anything anyone said on this board.

Throwing accusations around without facts to have a pop at someone because they said something you didn't like to score a point over the murder of a man is the lowest of the low.

Now be a man of your word, log off and do not appear again.

Wow. What a lot of hypocrisy on this thread.

Admittedly people here don't advocate stabbings, but given the frequent language on here like evil Tories, Tory scum, string them up etc etc, mentioning it earlier in the thread is pertinent.

It's not political point scoring. It's actually a good moment to reflect.
No actually there’s a time and a place for it. I’ll refrain from saying anything else at this time as it should be a time for people to pay respect in whatever way they choose.
