Defence Decimated

Is this view backed up by any evidence?

The evidence that he's been ***** for 8 months, losing to some of the worst sides in the league and hasn't been sacked.

We were out of play-off contention with 5 or so games to go last season, he still refused to play any of the kids, despite absolutely nothing riding on it.

One injury crisis is bad luck, when you're at the 30th injury crisis of the year then you can start to question how much of it is down to luck.

3-4-3

Defence: Howson Bamba and McNair.

WB: Tav and Jones

Midfield 2 or 3: from Crooks, JLS and Payero.

Up front 2 or 3: from Sporar, Uche, Watmore, Hernandez.

Unless I’ve included someone injured it’s not too bad.

We think Hernandez will be fit - hopefully Siliki and Payero too.
As to training ground injuries - Dijksteel and Fry were injured on the pitch. Isn't Bola recovering from surgery still.

Where is your evidence that he has not been close to being sacked?

How long have you been following the team? And football? Don't you recall us having multiple injury crisis previously? They happen. Remember under woodgate when we had no defence and played howson and McNair there? Remember mclarens season when we finished 7th? Remember the semi final when we played arsenal?
Here's an injury table. Note there are a few teams with multiple injuries.

While I understand people bring unhappy with the manager the tendancy to pick on absolutely everything he says and does is ridiculous. Just do a quick search for threads this time last year for a laugh at how fickle supporters are.

It's the lack of basic logic as well. Of course he isn't going to gamble on young kids when his job is continually on a knife edge.

I am surprised they have not taken on a free agent defender.

Fisher is out till at least April - so its like having a squad of 22 in effect.
They could not agree terms - within our wage structure - with those they talked to last week. You have to seriously question the player and agents holding out for better deals. We are now in mid October. That means these players are seriously way off match fitness and probably fitness. Surely any deal is better than no deal for them at this stage.

We've had an injury crisis virtually every week this season, it's not an isolated incident.

You're almost guaranteed that in each press conference he will mention that another player has picked up an injury in training.

It's comical.

His job was not on a knife's edge at the end of last season and he still played loan signings in meaningless games instead of utilising our academy.
There's no logic to that decision.

Kokolo is a left back who has been on our bench this season, we haven't got a fit senior left back.
Using logic, you'd play Kokolo.
I'll be pleasantly surprised if that's what actually happens though, we'll probably play Howson at left back.

I'm still baffled by the "the medical team told me not to risk Fletcher, but he said he was alright" incident, followed by Fletcher almost immediately getting injured and never playing for us again.

Like Gove said, "people have had enough of experts", look like old Brexit Bertie has too.

Sounds like the pots empty for boro doesn't fill me with confidence we will fill the gaps in January. We desperately need a central midfielder as well as defenders. It's questionable then why we spent big on deluxe signings like payero sporar and hernandez when we can't afford to pay the wages for free transfers.
