Warnock on TalkSport just now

Only problem I have with warnock is the short termism - he ain’t the future is he ?

But then maybe that’s actually a gripe about Gibson employing him.

Couldn’t give a stuff about his politics tbh
Whilst I agree, Warnock was brought in to do a job of keeping us in the Championship. In light of not many suitable candidates being available and him wanting to give it another season, it’s low risk for him to continue this season in my opinion, and the club will be in a much better place at the end of it, whether we go up or not.

We finally seem to be putting some sort of longer term strategy in place with the new sporting director, so when Warnock does leave there’ll at least be a plan (you’d hope anyway) and Gibson won’t just appoint Stewart Downing.

Because his points total for us is bang average, and very similar to Pulis, yet he escapes any of the heat that Pulis did simply because people think he's amusing. He's created this cult of personality where he can seemingly do no wrong amongst the majority of our fan base.

Nothing is ever his fault, he'll look to blame anyone and everyone (normally refs but not exclusively) for his failings.

I also hate his "good old Boris" and pro-Brexit comments.
There we have the truth of it. Typically bitter and twisted leftie politicising totally unrelated subjects. It's tiresome and makes genuine discussion on a subject become futile and boring. Are you Anthony Vickers?

After the robotic Monk and the nonsensical Woodgate, I find Warnock a breath of fresh air. And as a staunch Labour man I couldn't give a stuff who he voted for.

I have a theory that Gibson only appointed Warnock because after the misery of Monk/Pulis/woody he knew his daft comments in the press conferences/post match interviews would make us all laugh….well everyone apart from lizards that Is….

Of course my theory is utter bollox

He had a cunning plan...

Just Bookmarked this and placed a diary note to resurrect this thread for sometime in June 2022 when the Stewy and Woody dream team are unleashed….

It’s certainly all an act with Warnock, will do anything to take the blame away from himself. This act around referees every game is also extremely unsportsmanlike and looks really bad on our club, as well as being completely embarrassing.
The politics side is always a bit of a sickener considering the level of deprivation, child poverty, unemployment etc we have in the area. No surprise a fairly well off old bloke will be a tory, I have no problem with that, but praising them in a club press conference despite the suffering they have caused for our region is just wrong, and made me loose any respect for the man

Why get upset over an opinion that is held by a few more than you probably realise? Don’t make it personal. You are entitled to your view and so is he.

Christ. What an over reaction.

Speak to the people involved with the local food banks, then tell me if anyone representing Middlesbrough should be praising the government.

I think I know what the answer will be

I won’t do that no. I couldn’t give a ***** about what he’s said about the government. Care more about how he performs in his job.
He’s representing the football club as well as the local area, if he wants to discuss politics for whatever reason in his press conference, he should probably know what’s actually happening in the area

I'm sure their answer wouldn't be a surprise. Though I don't think they are an impartial group representing all Boro fans.

To say you have lost respect for him as a man though, come off it. He seems a nice enough bloke to me.

Back to the press conference it did seem downbeat and setting us up for a defeat this weekend. I hope it is mind games.

I was actually more annoyed with his sarcastic comment that he couldn't understand why Muniz didn't choose us. To me that showed he actually has a lowly opinion of us. I preferred his comment when Moore signed for Cardiff: "his loss".
