That's the same reason we were there! We always went to Boscombe (next door to Bournemouth) for our summer holidays and couldn't believe our luck when the fixtures were announced!I went to that away game with my late father - my family were on holiday down there

Can't remember first home game, probably 1965/66 Ish, first away game Boothferry Park Hull City 1970/71? Lost 1-0 Chris Chilton goal 85th min. Away was early in 81-82 @ WBA
@NZBoro1 I can still clearly remember sitting in my room at Leeds University and listening to that game on the radio (was just too far south for Radio Cleveland so had to listen to local radio for Halifax instead). At that time I hadn't met the big group of Leeds-based Boro fans I eventually started going to games with, otherwise I would undoubtedly have been there too!Sheffield utd, 76? Tony Mac hatrick
Away would have been sometime mid 80s, either Halifax, Sunderland or Newcastle.
Halifax was fun me and the good lady driving down in the marina (1300 super delux), night game, cup match. The ball boys were wee ones and the ball kept bouncing over them.
Carp game, think we won 1-0 with a Bernie tap in
