Your 1st home and away game

Haven't got a clue my 1st home game, I asked my dad over the years & he couldn't remember, all he said it was the back end of 1971

My 1st away game & my younger brother, 11th November 1972 Preston
We won 1-0 with a Mr Middlesbrough John Hickton goal, we went in to the side paddock, before kickoff the Boro fans behind the goal ran across the pitch & took the Preston kop, me & my brother laughed as we seen our older sisters boyfriend running across the pitch, good job our dad didn't see it, he would have chased him when he came calling

I have the match ticket, programme & match report

I also went to the flowing away game v Sheff Weds, we took the lead, again a big John goal against his former employees & even though Platt saved two penalties we lost 2-1
 
Swansea Town at home March 1960, 2-0 Boro, Peacock and Cloughie I think.
Chester away November 1966 , FA Cup 1st Rd, 5-2 Boro, o’Rourke and big John among the goals.
Awful defeat at Mansfield in Round 2 I think !
 
My mistake, I thought I had the Preston match ticket of my 1st game, I have the following season match ticket, the one I thought I had it turned out to be my 2nd away gam which was Sheff Weds 18th November 1972

For some reason I keep thinking Workington at home, they had V neck tops. But my memory could be playing me up.

Away I think Everton around 72.
 
Home: 27 Aug 1977 a 2-0 win over Newcastle
Away: 28 Aug 1982 a 3-1 defeat to Sheff Wed.

Just noticed, it must be something to do with Bank Holiday weekends

Boro v Newcastle, Dave Armstrongs excellent free kick at the holgate end & the dog running on the pitch
Sheff Weds v Boro, in the dugouts Big jack v Bobby Murdoch
