Agreed
Be interested to know how many he's scored season by season
I think he got 13 (in 28 starts), 13 (in 35 starts), 12 (in 29 starts), and 8 (in 23 starts), total 46 goals in 115 starts
Compared to Britt 15 (in 32 starts), 14 (in 28 starts), 11 (in 27 starts), 5 (in 19 strts), total 45 goals in 106 starts
Similar goalscoring record, the difference is what does Diedhiou contribute beyond the goals? I think he is much bigger and more powerful, 6 foot 2 and pretty solid, he can win headers, offer a threat from crosses, long balls, and getting on the end of McNair free kicks and corners.
I think he is much better suited to being a target man than Britt, although with a lack of mobility and pace, you need to get accurate balls up to him.
He's a better dribbler than Britt too. But I don't see him running in behind and scoring, but then britt only seemed to do that 2 or 3 times a season.
Being such a bit unit, he seems to gas after 65mins, or struggle to perform three times in 8 days. If he signs and we expect him to play sat-wed-sat for the full 90, I think he would struggle. But then Britt gassed after about 30 mins and couldn't perform for a full game, so Diedhiou is definitely a step up.
