European Super League to be announced tonight - 9:30pm

another alternative is to turn player on clubs. Those players didn't sign contracts to play in this competition, it could be argued that they are not contractually bound to play in it. Inform the players as soon as they turn out in that sham of a competition then they will be banned from playing for their country. But offer legal support, with contract lawyers, to assist them with exiting their contracts.

In this way you are making the players hate the clubs for putting them into a competition without consultation, without any forewarning and against their ethics. It will turn players against these CEOs and owners, which it sounds like might already be the case.
Or an alternate view, sign this deal and it’ll make you £200m over 5 years, go elsewhere you’ll get £20m.

If Amazon have distanced themselves from it then I'd expect Disney to do the same. Who does that leave?
Sky? Won't want the PR fallout.
BT? Same as above.
Terrestrial channels? Couldn't afford it.
BEIN? Not with the FIFA connections.

Looks like it could only head to a PPV model and that will fall flat on its ****.
They’ll do anything if it means returns for shareholders.

It is but I’m a bit confused by some posters on here , they have spent the best part of four years arguing for an elite European members only club, and the benefits taht brings - but it seems this doesn’t apply to football.😁😁😁
The last 48 hours have shown what can be achieved if we all put our cultural and political differences to one side, know that something isn't perfect, but work together in search of a solution that benefits a wider community and purpose. Like a political and commercial union or something

It really does

I'd suspend them now, give Leicester the FA cup, take their results away from the league and let Everton, West Ham and Leicester fight out for the title.

If they fail to walk away from the Super League in two weeks, then relegate them for next season. Every season they remain in the Euro League relegate them again. It means they'll have to play lower league teams or walk away. They will also fall under FFP but exclude the money from European Super League from the calculation. Keeping them in the league, gives us the opportunity to influence them negatively further, just booting them straight out means it's us vs them and we have no power or influence at all ever again.

If there is any attempt to treat them with kid gloves, it won't work, we all understand that now. Need to play strong with them.

I would also get the PFA in the ear of the players. If they are denied the opportunity to play for their countries, there are potential losses of earnings. Help the players that are interested in a class action law suite against their clubs with every legal help we can. We need the players from those clubs onside with us, or at least half of them.
Strong words BoroMart, couldn't agree with you more, even though they've crawled back I can't see anything happening mind

£100 million fine from the FA - money to be used down the pyramid
Any additional fine UEFA see fit
Removal from European Competition for three seasons.

PL money to be allocated equally amongst all sides save for £10 million for finishing bottom with £2 million increase per place and a fee for each appearance on TV.
Limitations on the number of players at senior and youth level - say 24 for each. Stop this hoarding of talent and loan system swindle.
Ban on agents, all agents to be employed by the FA with the simple remit of working on player instructions - no engineering for moves to increase commissions etc.
Leveraged ownerships to be illegal.
Gradual move to a 51% ownership by fans trustees model.
Additional fines for attempting anything like this again.
All sides in the PL to significantly reduce debt levels.
All teams to have a maximum squad salary level.

Ownership and Player greed is ruining football, it’s unsustainable, these proposals were made because the clubs have run up stupid debt levels trying to outdo each other.

How can Real and Barcelona have debt ffs? If they make poor off field decisions, that should effect the playing squad, just like it does every other team on the planet.

I've changed my tune a little on this over the last couple of days. I was defensive when the knives were out for Sky as being architects of this greed culture when they helped form the PL all those years ago, as I believe the new broadcasting deals did a lot of good for football and helped transform the English game.

The trouble is now, the PL are so far up Sky's backside that no clubs will face any severe sanctions as the last thing that Sky want is a league without your Man Utds of this world and the cynic in me tends to think the reason Sky were so keen for all their employers and pundits to talk so openly about how bad this was for football was simply because they weren't party to any of the talks regarding a possible broadcast deal. I think John Barnes summed it up today when he said the broadcasters are happy for the fans to think they have changed football today, when in reality they have changed nothing, ticket prices are still too high, you still need 3 different providers to watch the games, kick offs can still be changed at a drop of a hat and mediocre players are still being paid far too much.

IMO the breakaway clubs will try again, except they will take 8 from the PL (the same 6 plus probably Everton and Leicester) and will have Sky onside before any decision is announced. This then leaves the PL in a much weaker position and their big broadcasting buddies will ensure that they tow the line this time.

I can almost smell the cigar smoke from Murdochs office as he meets with Perez.

Anybody who thought these rebel clubs would get punishment are going to be sorely disappointed. It was always going to be thus.

This is utterly depressing news. Albeit predictable. These owners have tried it on twice now and almost certain to try it again a third time. Why can’t the authorities grow a backbone. It’s scandalous and corrupt.

It’s just predictable. These Clubs maintain a power and are untouchable with their home leagues. Instead of Chelsea and Spurs fans heralding their clubs for withdrawing by singing “We’ve got our Club back” they should continue to protest at their owners.

To be fair to Spurs fans they have continued to protest against Daniel Levy.

Well as expected, i can't even say I'm surprised really, disapointed yes, I was hoping the powers to be would have shown them who is in charge, we know whats always been the case, the greed of the 6 are I charge & future talks will show this when they want more slice of the pue because they stated loyal when they could have walked away

Amd as expected all the Sky pundits now fall back in to line, Redknapp last night saying it will be difficult to get rid of the owners and Mills this morning saying, in real terms what have they actually done wrong to be able to impose a penalty. Even Talk Shoite cur a caller off yesterday cos he tried to call out Gary Neville about Sky's continue rule over football.

Fan power my backside, nothing will happen to the clubs, the super league will happen and Sky will make billions from it, the hypocrisy of it all stinks.

Sadly very true

I can't even say I won't watch any of the greed is good PL or the farce that is the CL because I don't to start with

You've got to be incredibly cynical to think that the collapse of a Super League within 48 hours of announcement is proof that fans don't matter and a Super League will happen.

They might not be punished in the league, but they're not going to get off the hook with no issues.
