Lammy epitomises why Labour will struggle to get in.

See the jerk blasted the police in Bristol for being “ really, really heavy handed. The guy is a disgrace offering such comments. Being pelted with bricks, bottles and fireworks - so is this acceptable in the eyes of the Shadow Home Secretary.

Absolute baffoon and certainly not fit for the position.
There you go Nosmo -what Lammy said in full- He also asked what the PM and Home Secretary were doing to calm things down. Did you forget that bit?

As long as Body Bag Boris keeps ruffling his hair and coming out with his cringeworthy soundbites, unfortunately the british illectorate will keep voting for him, he can do no wrong!!...
The illectororate arent as Savvy as one would give them credit for and the Tories are lapping it up

I think people forget that Sunak has spent hundreds of billions of borrowed money since the last election.

We are living in a false bubble and so are the Tories.

Bunter really should be 20% ahead in the polls rather than stuck at just below what he polled in the election, he isn’t doing well at all.

They offered a very good alternative in 2017 and 2019 and still didn’t get in.
They really did not.... they lost because they wouldn't honour the Brexit result - so they clearly don't believe in democracy and in return it seems a lot of people don't believe in Labour

If this lot are so bad ........why is Sir Bendalot so far behind ....asking for me mam , she asked me today & she has been red all her life & I honestly struggled to find a answer , she has no faith in Starmer she said she liked the John Smiths, even Blairs but cant connect with this now.

As a aside , people slaughtering the Police .....who will you call when things go wrong ....yes, this lot !

Strange that when the police are involved with the left protesters they are the villains but when they attack a perceived right wing activist as pointed out with video evidence on the Belfield thread its a case of "I couldn't see anything wrong" Two sides to every story and other apologist view points.

Double standards by the left as always

Wow - a new member straight in with the anti-Labour lies. Whodathunkit. Must be a local election in the offing.

Labour lost because the narrative put out by the media was against them throughout.

They were accused of both backing and not backing brexit depending on the stance of the person not voting for them. All just a convenient excuse.

Anti-semitism played a huge part too. Something that seemed to disappear the day after the election which was a huge surprise considering how widespread it is within the Labour Party.

Starmer's spent a year telling the people who were most supportive and enthusiastic about the Labour party to pish off. Over time they're doing just that.

I know people criticised Corbyn for preaching to the choir too much, but thats at least better than not having a choir.

After the last two elections we now know part of the problem is the general public don't really have a clue what is or isn't credible.

EDIT in fact it's just one of those things people say they want to avoid admitting what they really like. Just repeating daft phrases like "brexits oven ready" isn't especially credible. People will keep voting tory because they hate travellers, hate muslims, hate unions, hate teachers, hate nurses (if they dare ask for a payrise), hate anyone on benefits and hate their neighbours. They like the punish everyone party.
Are you not part of the of the general public. When you say "we now know " who is we.
I love it when people on here get all twisty thinking they know better than the majority of people.

Hate is a very negative emotion and rarely if ever convinces anyone to change or reconsider a view point. Those with hate will be left behind once things have moved on.

Do you mean the remainers who think they know better than the majority who voted leave ?

Don't really see what you're getting at blf. Do you think everyone everywhere knows the exact same amount about recent UK politics? How would that work? Some people must know more than others like every other topic no? Erimus74 certainly knows a lot more than I do about MFCs history. It's nothing to get a chip on your shoulder about?

Sorry NoMushroom- Labour specifically said that they WOULD respect the result. Corbyn merely asked what kind of Brexit would the people want- a no deal one or with a deal. They would put this question to the people. That was all. Seems fair and democratic to me.

It was fair but it was convoluted after Parliament has been paralysed for a couple of years and it was easy for Bunter to portray it as a back door way of remaining in the EU.

Corbyn made a mistake, he should have just said he would stand by Johnson’s deal.

I’m not convinced Corbyn wanted the last election, I think he could see Labour getting blamed for the shxt storm ahead.

He definitely didn't. He (and his shad cab) were saying no elections until the 31st december 2019 deadline came so that Boris would have to go to the EU for an extension. The idea being the humiliation would split tory support to UKIP/Brexit party.

Labour only voted for the early election when the Lib Dems and SNP forced their hand.

Ever since Orgreave and Hillsborough I have learnt that the police are not to be trusted.
Actually, I remember a story from years ago (circa 1970) about a man who was stopped by police whilst driving on the back road between Sadberge to Stockton. The police claimed that a tail light was not working. Then they asked him to blow into the bag as they said that they could smell alcohol. The man protested but the police told him that if he didn't take the test he would be arrested. The police said that the bag showed positive and asked him to leave his car and get into the police car. He was taken to Stockton police station and kept over night. The following morning he was released without charge.
It turns out that the man was a magistrate and a lifelong teetotaller. His car was examined and there was nothing wrong with the tail light. It was actually a new car.
At the time I was only 15 but that really set me wondering about police behaviour.
Since then I have seen my late brother taken to the police station for questioning because he was walking home from my house to his house at 2.00 am
A work mate taken to Redcar police station for walking home from a nightclub at 3.00 am. They let him put of the cell at 06.30. The same time as his shift at work was due to start.
Trust the police- nah- I view them with suspicion.

And that was the trouble- Corbyn was too honest
