If Boris is, as SKY reports, mentally able to take decisions and easily accessible, what’s he doing in an ICU bed?
Exactly
I hate the Tory party as much as the next fella but what exactly did people expect Boris to do?
theres lots he/the government could have done differently, saying we will take it on the chin, shaking hands with people infected with CV, then bragging about it, allowing people returning from italy for example into the country without testing, allowing 3000 Spanish football supporters into the country, coming from one of the most infected cities in europe.Exactly

Close the borders in and out when China got its first cases of covid-19?
As much as I hate to say it but I wonder what percentage of the population are getting ill now disregarded the government's instructions compared to say those who were either unlucky or a frontline medical professional?
1. Lockdown - much earlierI hate the Tory party as much as the next fella but what exactly did people expect Boris to do?
Yes hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it?Erm, he could have locked down a week or two earlier, with that extra notice we had, you know, what could have at least halved the death toll. Could have stopped Cheltenham, could have shut the pubs without practically advertising the last night bender.
But no, let's let it run on a bit, so we can max out the occupation of those NHS beds, you know, for the "herd immunity" that everyone in the world was saying will be a big mistake.

Utter bollox.Bring a lockdown in earlier and sudden thus probably causing mass riots and looting
Too many warnings to say 'hindsight'.Yes hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it?
Bring a lockdown in earlier and sudden thus probably causing mass riots and looting and more people being unemployed now because the job retention scheme wouldn't have been ready or possibly even thought of.
Why do people still think this lockdown is on place to fight the virus? It was never the case and no government official ever said so. Lockdown is to slow down the spread of the virus.
Not sure what your definition of "hindsight" is but watching a disease roll in from the far east, affecting countries like Italy and Spain and even Germany before us and STILL failing to react doesn't seem like hindsight to me.Yes hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it?

So the Tories can be incompetent to the point of being culpable because Labour (based on no evidence) would have been no better?Look, we get it, people hate the Tories, I'm not their biggest fan either, but they were far more electable than new new Labour. Regardless of the situation people will always find fault, and that's in any walk of life. But if you seriously think a party (Labour) who when last in power completely destroyed the UK economy and lost the last 3 general elections, the most recent with the worst ever result, would have handled the current situation any better then you are either naïve, stupid, or both.
Except that isn't true is it? There was a GLOBAL financial crisis caused principally by the USA. In actual fact the actions of Gordon Brown pretty much saved the economy. You need to accept that you, in voting for this shambles, bear some responisibility for the incompetence of this Government.when last in power completely destroyed the UK economy
Whataboutery level 8So the Tories can be incompetent to the point of being culpable because Labour (based on no evidence) would have been no better?
We're not judging Labour and what they may or may not have done, this is about the inaction in the face of an obvious threat to the people of this country.(Labour)... would have handled the current situation any better then you are either naïve, stupid, or both.
Err nobody said they had. What are you talking about?i haven't heard/seen/read anyone who does like Boris actually make the statement "Boris is the Messiah"
Perhaps all the Tory MPs in tears at the clap for Boris had something to do with it.I've seen/read/heard a fair bit from people who do not like Boris saying things such as the title of this thread: "since when did Boris become the Messiah?", however i haven't heard/seen/read anyone who does like Boris actually make the statement "Boris is the Messiah". it seems like fairly typical inflammatory language used to attack someone they don't like, but it doesn't appears to have any basis in fact
just think about that for a moment
for the record (if anyone feels it is relevant to my view as above), i did not vote Tory, nor do i wish Boris anything but a full and speedy recovery
