Going from bad to worse for the Labour Party

Modern Britain in a nutshell. Just bitter folk voting to make things worse to make other people bitter too in an endless loop.

"Miaow miaow miaow I hate the unions and I hate bank holidays and I hate public sector workers and I hate Meghan Markle and I hate all me neighbours wah wah wah"
Easy to say if you work in the public sector- bet you do!

If Starmer resigned today I’m not sure what he’d be remembered for.
He may be a good barrister but then all the facts are known and a barrister just dissects and analyses them. He‘s very good at that and can criticise what the Tories are doing but so can anyone with hindsight.
Starmer needs more vision, describing a better state for the country and how we can get there. That’s what leadership is and is where he’s disappointed me.
He also seems short of talent in his shadow cabinet, especially compared to shadow cabinets like Blair’s.

I don't work in the public sector, never have (directly) and I agree with everything he has said. We have gone backwards, become a hateful, self obsessed country, you can add on "I hate do gooders, I mean who the hell do they think they are doing good, I hate snitches, I mean I love getting away with criminality, but I hate criminals, you know these black gangs and their knife crime, and I hate liberals, I mean who do they think they are wanting a better less hateful country.....etc etc. ad nauseum. The country is FUBARed.

Blair had a good few years build up to winning the 1997 election and even then many people thought the Tory cult would have a late surge to keep Bambi out.

Starmer has had a good start, the first thing an opposition needs to do us expose the failings of the government. He’s been doing that whilst not looking divisive in a period of national emergency. Plenty of time to the next election.

That's a big leap you've taken and typical of so much I see on social media - if you don't support Corbyn you're necessarily all these other things, QED. You say this is what the country has become - when do you think this golden age was when the people would have elected Corbyn, because I don't think there was one.

I'm no expert but I think Starmer is, rightly or wrongly, playing a long game. Normal politics, whatever that is, is a bit out of the window at the moment and he's probably biding his time until we're out of the pandemic and closer to an election. That's probably what he and the leadership feel is politically the best course of action.

It comes down to people believing they are part of the Johnson gang. They don't see his lot are in it for themselves. To get the majority they have teachers, nurses etc must have voted for them. People want to see themselves as moving up. And people see Labour as focussed on the poor people.

It's a successful propaganda exercise. We are a selfish society with no interest in the care of others.

Labour stabbed their leader in the back, trashed their membership and gave a massive slap in the face to every brexit supporter or anybody who wanted the result of the referendum to be acknowledged.

Being anti democratic is a hard thing to turn over in politics. If you’re not going to do the thing you say are.. then your worthless.

The Conservatives have openly said what they are going to do and they are following though with it. It’s not favourable for 99% of the population.. but at least they are following though with it.

Labour just keep destroying their own values and pushing away once loyal supporters.

WELCOME TO TORYLAND - bow down before the aristocracy, empty your wallets to the landed gentry and be great fully for any scraps that are thrown your way.

Labour have come across as untrustworthy.

and that’s in comparison to the tories!

I'll always vote Labour, I've given up on the idiots in my circle that don't agree; and that's the thing, we never will....
I’ll abstain now. Labour aren’t fit for purpose. They no longer represent the working classes they just pretend to. They represent a small clique of southern based woke prats. Working class people feel the Tories represent them more. Think about that and how we have got to this place. I always said that the left will eat itself and they have. Labour do not represent you

This thread demonstrates the problem with labour. We can't even agree amongs ourselves what we stand for. You might hate the tories, but they have a clear, single purpose when elections come around, labour don't.
