- The Unofficial "Official" Match Day Thread. Boro v Tony Mowbray`s Blackburn Rovers -

The ref never caused us to play like spuds. The second half was like watching Hartlepool
We were all over Blackburn until they scored, a goal that came because of a defensive horrorshow, a defence that was altered by their player blinding our main CB and getting away with it scot free.

It was only after they scored that we started to play horrifically.

That honestly is really difficult to take today, i feel gutted as if we've lost in the playoffs or something, not like a normal league defeat.

It's probably the sense of injustice.

I'm not a huge fan on VAR, but this league needs it as the standard of refereeing is disgusting. £100's millions riding on promotion but the refs are non-league.

We need to be better and use adversity in the right way, but it's hard when your best defender gets his face torn off without penalty.

Me thinks there is a lot of straw clutching going on here. If the ref had seen it awarded a penalty no guarantee we would score! If their lad was sent off it might have altered the game. No guarantee as we were completely hopeless.

it just might of meant we missed more chances!

We were second best for most of the match with Warnock schooled by old boy Mogga.

The longer the game went on the more ragged we became.

Dust off and start again. Hopefully Tav's groin isn't torn.

Ref has robbed us. Simple as that. If I was our manager I'd spend half the season in the stands and it'd cost me a fortune in fines.

Embarrassing the standard of refereeing. They get away with it because the premier League and particularly the "big 6" is the be all and end all these days. No-one cares if a championship side gets screwed over.

Fingers crossed for Tav and Fry of course.

Think you were watching a different game to me. It all hinged on the first goal, we had chances to get it. The penalty being the major one of course. First goal is often the winner.

I remember this red card for Mido, makes it feel worse knowing we get punished for stuff like this but then are left ecposed to it by rubbish refs.

No guarantee we would have scored - Britt has missed one or two penalties. If you like the big boot upfield- fair enough. I maintain we were poor- we rely heavily on defences making errors or ill timed tackles to get a dead ball situation. When this fails we are largely clueless. And that is not nonsense
