Liamo someone had to be first to approve, its the nature of time and a consequence of how it passes.
I would also have thought, but I don't know, that all trial information and approval decisions are in the public domain. This means anyone who wants can go and look at the process and decision making behind that process and decide for themselves whether they think it is safe for them to take.
Alternatively speak to your GP as he is more likely to fully understand the process and can put your mind at ease around the risks, which there will be some. Given your medical history your GP will be able to advise on the likelihood of an adverse reaction.
This is what we should all be doing, but generally don't as we trust our GP's not to inject us with something that is more likely to harm than heal.
Also, and this has been said previously, by the time most of us get round to being vaccinated it is likely to be approved around the world, and if any countries medical proffession reject it then re-evaluate your decision.
One final thought, and I believe everyone should have the choice of taking part in a vaccination porogramme or not, but.. Imagine the uproar if the rest of the world was taking the vaccine and our government decided not to bother, or we were a third world country who couldn't afford it?
Make a balanced decision that feels right for each of you, but bear in mind the above whilst making that decision.
