Danny Rose on loan

Apparently still owns a house up here from his first loan in the area from his Sunderland days.

Could he join the list of players to have played for the Mackems, Geordies and the mighty boro? Let’s hope so

He hasnt even been given a squad number by Spurs so they pay him £100k a week for literally doing nothing for the last year of his contract or they pay him £90k a week and loan him to us, who pay the rest.

Thats how the sums add up.

Or Spurs agree to loan him to a club who would be happy to subsidise his wages higher than we can. I cannot for the life of me see this happening.

Maybe he doesn’t want to leave though unless it’s a club in the north so could be a case of him sitting tight and then reluctantly letting him come to us. I agree though, I do not see it happening.
 
He is no Stan Anderson but could be a Shay Given, not many played for all 3 'top' North East clubs. He was a very good player and if he is even 75% of the player of three years ago then I really hope we sign him.
 
If we were to sign a left back permanently we’d be looking at a fee of at least £1.5 million plus wages of probably in the region 10 grand, so I suppose you could reason if we were to pay 30 or 40 percent of his wages it’d work out less than or equivalent to that?
A bit like leasing a new car instead of buying a second hand one....kind of.
 
Difference being that you would effectively spread that £1.5m over the 3/4/5 years of his contract (I believe the jargon is amortise"?) or recoup some kind of fee for him if he is then sold, whereas this would be just over the 1 year

On the flip side, with a loan you are not on the hook for beyond this season, so a short-term commitment

I would love it, but really can't see it

He can only go to the EFL now, or wait until January.
He doesn't have to go to any club Spurs say.
If he would prefer to play here than other Championship clubs, for what ever reason, then he will come here.
Rose will get his £100k per week whatever happens, it is just a cae of how much is not paid by Spurs and whether Rose will go to someone who will pay higher than us.

I'm sorry but this simply can't work financially. He's on over 100k a week and you'd think at a very minimum they'd want 50% payed (probably more).

Just two days ago Warnock was saying how skint we are and he didn't even want to ask for money. So 48hrs later I don't see him going into Gibson office saying ' can we sign Danny Rose? '😂

Also if by some miracle we had 50k to spend on wages I'd be looking at bringing in two or 3 (a CB and Forward at least).

Of course they have a say but I think what Indeedido is saying if Rose wants to come here as we are based in a location he wants to come and makes that clear which if you have seen his personality he’s not a shy of an opinion or 2.
