Why are People Stockpiling Toilet Paper?

Seriously, why not go the whole hog and go ‘off grid’. There is absolutely no need for such panic. Do you do the same every winter when influenzas are about? Everything we know about coronavirus isthat if everyone washed there hands appropriately and didn’t sneeze over everyone the vast majority of people will be fine. Prevent cross infection by all means but buying every bog roll in sight is stupid.

Exactly. All this panic buying is absolute madness.

I saw someone buying 2, 16 roll packs yesterday. I would suggest if you need 32 toilet rolls in a fortnight then you have health issues beyond a virus.
Mane they are a family of five but yes they herd mentality is well and truly in overdrive!

I’ve just been to my local supermarket - the shelves where the toilet role are normally were completely empty bar a solitary large bottle of corona which some joker had placed there - top banter!

Me and the old man were discussing this conundrum today surely you'll just have a shower to clean ur **** if u run out of toilet roll?

You would think food was more critical if the UK goes into shutdown (when people are told to stay indoors). 2 weeks staying indoors could kill the virus spread, but could people survive without buying food for 14 days?

exactly. probably a billion people clean their **** with water, not scrunched up paper.

Alternatively, go to the next aisle. Kitchen roll and regular tissues are still there as normal.

My sister tells me on her latest trip to the local Aldi - the shelves containing Pasta, Beans and loo - roll were empty!
Just what is it with the public? Are they so gullible?

Thousands of our elderly and vulnerable adults die each year due to lack of adequate housing, no heating, poor nutrition and the absence of proper social care. Our armed forces veterans are deprived of high quality professional care and rehabilitation and many end up on the street and commit suicide every day.

Im more concerned about them.

You can survive quite a few days without food. As long as you can still get access to water. If our water supply fails then it's big big trouble

So they bought two of something, instead of one. People don't seem to understand that lots of people buying a little more is enough to empty the shelves. The whole issue, in the UK, is now dominated by people wanting to ridicule others for their reaction to it. Panicking doesn't help but neither does denial. There is clearly at least 'a bit of a problem'!

You do realise that all of these people are now even more at risk of an early death from this disease?

Fail to see what's 'gullible' about buying an extra bag of pasta, just in case.

What? In case of an early death? Pasta isnt going to make much difference.

But seriously the argument is not about an extra bag of pasta is it. It’s about certain individuals buying far more than they need. Not one but many. And the resellers on ebay trying to knock out loo roll at vastly inflated prices need taking down.

I buy the largest packs of toilet roll every time, they end up much cheaper per roll and last weeks.
Nothing to do with coronavirus panic for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I usually do that if I’m at Costco. But at home, with a Sainsbury’s downstairs I just get a four pack. I’m running low. Might have to poo at work
