I know 2 people, one in his 60s, just retired and no health problems. The other had health issues. I don't know 2 million people.Odds of dying are a million to one? How can that be the case with a mortality rate of around 1%?
I personally know two people who have succumb to it!
Yeah those odds are way off. I don’t disagree with that sentiment that we can’t live in fear forever, and our children shouldn’t have to, but at the moment there is still work to do before we can just treat it like other illnesses. We need to at least see for sure if it’s seasonal and/or if herd immunity is building. But I do think people have to get comfortable with their own risks. If I was elderly now I’d be thinking “this is a **** way to live now, I could be dead next year, I’m gonna take my chances and enjoy what I have left”.
42,000 people died prematurely (i.e. under 75) last year in Uk from coronary heart disease. Doesnt seem to be too much concern about the nations health regarding this statistic. We should also be informing the nation on the news every night regarding the daily death rate from coronary heart disease.
The economy is wrecked and the media are creating a huge panic for people on a daily basis. I actually think people are starting to get really fed up of it all now - and are doing all they can to live a normal life - taking more risks etc.
I understand around 5 people are dying a day from it. Is that the sort of figure we need to be destroying the economy/peoples livelyhoods for?
I can't say I disagree with the opening post.
