Yup, it certainly cost her Michigan, the Greens doubled their vote, but deprived Hillary of the state. A key point that is being ignored is that the US is quite misogynist, how many 10,000s of people couldn't vote for Hillary because the Presidency "is a mans job" or because "I hate all this feminism it's gone too far". Those people will go straight back to Biden this time. Like it or not, it's another small factor that allowed Trump in.

This is playing out very similarly to 2016.. Looks like the 'landslide' is turning into a Trump win and it's all the DNC's fault.

No, no, no, it's all those nasty racists supporting Trump... CNN told me.
The Democrats are making exactly the same mistakes again, but the reality for them is they'd much rather have Trump than Sanders.

I watched quite a lot of both conventions.

Both entirely substance free, but I thought the better one was.....The RNC!

All the DNC had was “Trump is bad” but the RNC did have some things that will connect with regular voters. Trump finally connected a blow on Biden when he said something around the lines of “Biden smiled warmly and hugged working class people, and then went back to D.C. where he supported trade deals which shipped their jobs overseas”.

That messaging will do very well in the Mid-West.

Biden could be in trouble, the basement strategy has served him well so far but he needs a lot more.

Just shows the incompetence of the DNC that they can’t prosecute the case against Trump in a global pandemic, economic recession/depression and tens of millions of Americans unemployed with little or no assistance.

You might want to edit the thread title to omit the landslide word. There is no way it will be.
 
I haven’t read all the other replies only the OP but this is the worry as if complacency sets in among democrats thinking oh well why bother voting as it’s a done deal could open the door or narrow the gap.

trump is going to use every power he has (and hasn’t legal and illegal) got at his disposal to cling on the last vestiges of power with his last breath.

So expect it to get messy expect multiple court challenges on state verdicts expect set rule checks on each states individual voting policies.

Biden needs as many votes as he can muster esp among the African American ( often apathetic and disenfranchised at the last election) and woman voters to put this election result beyond doubt. As Donald won’t leave easily.

Trumps post election narrative is going to be that “they” stole the election from the American people.
 
And what have we got in less than a month? The first of three debates.
And what are the Dems starting to whisper? Biden shouldn't legitimise Trump by debating him.
A wholly negative approach from a party that wants nothing to change apart from them being in charge.

Jam I respect your views we are very similar politically (remembering from the old board) but you make the fatal mistake above.. yes there are racists in America and the UK, however that is not the reason for Trump winning. Is Ice cube racist?


The democratic establishment is the reason for Trump winning, what's worse... I don't even think they care.

Which is why that black vote is so important as we know there is a huge non voting percentage of the us electorate that is keeping the door open for trump if they could be convinced to vote Biden this door closes.

I didn’t say Biden WOULD win by a landslide, that’s what the polls indicated. If anything it should stay as a reminder of how incompetent the Democrats are.

I don’t even think Biden is a good candidate, he’s one of the few that Trump could beat.

Latest polls still indicate a Biden win, but it’s got much tighter.
