You can't compare them though, Pulis had Mo Besic available.

The ongoing and repeated logic that those of us that desperately wanted Pulis out simultaneously wanted Woodgate in is an absolute nonsense. The two things are mutually exclusive.
Pulis was a disaster, wasting our last bit of not insubstantial funding on utter dross, produced our worst form for 20 years, our worst gone record in good knows how long (until Woodgate said hold my beer) and ultimately failed.
The one mitigation for Woodgate is the loss of a lot of experience. Atypical impliedly dismisses this but it’s true: Flint, Batth, Leadbitter, Downing, Hugill, Besic, Mikel etc - all gone and replaced with League One standard players and Academy products.
The bottom line is this: since he got rid of Karanka Gibson has made 4 disastrous appointments. It’s that simple.

Love it.
“Anyone but Pulis” brigade have what they wanted I guess.
We did, we lost out on promotion under Pulis, creating a toxic atmosphere at homePulis wasn’t a success, but 7th in the table is in no way, shape or form a disaster.
Doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait long to see what the consequences of a genuinely disastrous appointment looks like.
I was being facetious but I will standby my previous claim that Pulis would have had this exact same group of personnel much higher up the table. It might not have been what everyone wanted but it would have done for me. Just my opinion. The ongoing and repeated logic that those of us that desperately wanted Pulis out simultaneously wanted Woodgate in is an absolute nonsense. The two things are mutually exclusive.

I have never heard a single player or coach at Boro now say a bad word about Tony Pulis last season - and likewise you won't hear Tony Pulis say a bad word about Jonathan Woodgate - for me both have/are tackling a very difficult situation. I just hope and pray we can arrest the slide by winning tonight.
Can you imagine the atmosphere if we could suddenly put a winning run together now - anyone that is old enough to remember the great escape under Colin Todd when we whacked Newcastle on the last day will know just how amazing that feeling can be. That game when Ian Baird and Bernie Slaven helped shoot holes in Newcastle's promotion bid as well as saving us from the drop became every bit as legendary as any of the Bruce Rioch triumphs over adversity.
To combine both Pog and Gaz's points, I'd go no further than to say Pulis did underachieve, but Woodgate has been an unmitigated disaster so far, and that's the difference between the two.Ye everyone who wanted pulis out wanted woodgate in *note sarcasm*
The squad is different it is worse today
Woodgate had a smaller transfer budget
Woodgate has a smaller loan wage budget
Pulis underachieved and so has woodgate
