The weekend 🍺 and 🎶 thread

It was my birthday yesterday I sampled a few (too many) beers in The Chapel. Due to over indulging I can't remember the names of the beers I was drinking but one of them was blue in colour. How do you brew or even start to think about brewing a blue IPA.

Anyway, bad head this morning but enjoyed my night with my wife and two sons. There was also a group of mixed age who came in playing violins or fiddles, Irish drums and flutes, etc. whilst singing folk songs. What a great place The Chapel is and the customers so diverse.

We are having a drop of French wine we brought back with us and are watching the rugby tonight. It should be a cracking game. Music got to be Altered Images and Happy Birthday.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I looked like the guy in Ingleby's post this morning. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Many happy returns NC

Giving the alcohol a rest for a while, had a blood test last week and now called in to Drs, pretty sure it’s just cholesterol up sh*t creek as it was last year and I did nowt about it 🤨. Need to get my derrière into gear and shape up.
Anyway, we know our team won’t get beat this weekend so happy days. Have a good one folks.

Because the wife is a school teacher, we have a rule that we don't work Saturdays and spend it together, we usually go out for lunch and sometimes evening dinner as well, get back and watch a movie.

This Sunday it's our 35th Wedding anniversary, so Saturday night is Chadwicks.

This week my works phoned me and asked if I fancy working on Saturday and as a reward take next week off...Now as you can imagine, it's pretty tempting.

Anyway, no drink for me tonight- Work tomorrow :D

This is my favorite Dave Van Ronk tune, as I'm in the bad books, it's also my funeral music.

I hope you don't mind I join you, I've been reading and listening to this for a long time.

I'm just reminiscing about albums and songs I have and still listen to, I bought the album Slaughter on 10th Avenue - Mick Ronson £2.14p (one of the few albums that I play both sides), I bought Ronsons 2nd Album in February 1975 - "Play Dont Worry" with my Birthday and Christmas money.

During the winter me and mates would sit for hours talking about music, every little piece of a song, split it up into what turned us on by it all. Simple times and very happy bunch who thought they knew it all

I wanted to play this simple song pop song "Billy Porter" its arranged by Ronson and most of the Spiders are playing too.
Its very him and you can see how he influenced Bowie and vice versa. I liked him more over the years as he was a guitar great(slaughter on 10th Avenue) but played pop well when he wanted.
I cant drink just now :giggle: and I probably wont again- as I haven't missed it, and tbh rarely had a drink for years.
I do miss Lowcocks Dandelion &Burdock though.

Been on the usual Stockton crawl tonight after work. A couple in the smog. A few Virtuoso Grapefruit IPA’s in the Tipsy Turtle then finished on a Northern Monk IPA in The Kopper Keg. Lovely stuff A1F24D17-92F3-4417-8E44-5242DB90F042.jpeg

Back home and enjoying a few rums listening to some oldies I’ve not listened to in a long time.

Loved this song / album growing up.
