This is not on carrick

Could be a good time for Gibson to come out and speak to the fans, because if this carries on the fans will soon turn on Carrick.

I can accept this being a transitional season but we need reassuring that this is the actual plan.
Not a chance. I’m not sure what him or Scott could say to be honest, but all summer we’ve all clung on to the hope of keeping Akpom and resigning Giles, Archer and Ramsey, and we’ve ended up with a load of inferior and unknown players. That sits with Gibson and Scott, and they should be answerable for it.

We were performing well under Carrick before Ramsey and Archer came in. The 3 key players we had up until that point who are no longer here were Steffen, Giles and Akpom, so with that in mind, this team isn't that different to the team we had when we initially started winning games under Carrick.

I'm beginning to worry that a big reason for our run of form last season was down to Carrick benefiting from a new manager bounce.
So we lost all of Akproms goals as our top scorer. The best attacking full back we have had for years and a keeper who was good enough to be signed by the best team in the world. That's a team that's not that much different to what we have now ?

Scott has a Bobby's job.
Decide all the signings, sales, contracts. Who comes, who goes, who gets signed on longer.
But we can't possibly judge him for many many years. Nonsense.
He's been here 4 windows now. Look at the state of the squad.

Carrick is not getting the best out of the team and out of some players, but just think about losing Akpom, Archer and Ramsey. And then being given an A league novice, a Brentford B player and a lad who did alright for a bit at Blackpool without scoring.
Even his assistant was given to him by the Club. Here's Jonny!

If there is not major recruitment of quality this week then we will struggle like **** all season.

I accept that did seem to be the plan, and it was naive to say the least, but this team isn't too dissimilar to the team we had when Carrick first took over, and we were winking games then.

Dieng has replaced Steffen
Engel has replaced Giles
Rogers has replaced Akpom
Lath has replaced Crooks

How can you say that Fry and Lenihan don't work when they were one of the reasons that we did so well last year.
Huh? We conceded a ton of goals last season, just had more than enough firepower to outscore the opposition. Had one of the worst defences in the top half.

Played 4 games this season, conceded 9. The defensive unit just isn't working, Fry and Lenihan aren't playing particularly well, nor look like a partnership.

I'm not denying they're big losses, but Forss was also contributing with goals (he seems to have fallen out of favour) and McGree was a key player for us before Ramsey came in.

We also had Giles, Steffen and Akpom for the play-offs, what happened there?

As The attacking free flowing that team he created last season was all but sold/let go from under him.

5 key players gone

No other side has has that
I have just said this to my mate, carrick is not to blame is clear he can coach and coach well, he's head coach has pretty much no say in players, they have let him down massively with this shower of shightttt. I'm angry. Pass me a beer.

Scott was all over the papers etc like a dog with 2 dicks when we were doing well under Carrick last season and lapping up the plaudits.
He was. Hinted at the problematic previous manager and feeling like he could finally make an impact. Grifter.

Carrick has been very poor tactically and with team selections/sub choice recently. He deserves some flack.

Gibson though is the man to blame. We seem to constantly be in a state of flux. Of transition. Every bleeding year.

And Carrick they are team who everything goes through so says Carrick. Or do you just not like giving Carrick any blame

If Carrick ends up getting sacked after a poor start I’ll be extremely upset. Expectations should be reduced. Can understand fan frustrations, but the club doesn’t really communicate with us. There’s potential and as I’ve said before we can build this model from League One as easily as we can from the Championship. Patience is the key.

So last season it was Carrick being a great coach and not well done to gibbo and Scott for bringing in quality. If hes such a good coach surely he can turn this shower into a promotion winning team.

Cant have it both ways. They are all culpable

There’s more to a team than an attack you know. There’s a thing called defending.

We simply don’t do that under Carrick, it needs to improve significantly.
Spot on. We didn't lose today because we didn't create chances or score goals we lost because we are weak defensively.
If there's more recruitment to come it had better not be attacking midfielders or strikers, we're awash with the fuqqers.

As a player his trade mark was deep lying, in front of the defence, snuffing out danger and starting counter attacks. So our set-up now is baffling me a bit.

I assume he's telling our two lightweight midfielders to play as they are now, and allowing the opposition to run through us pretty much unopposed? Or he'd do something to change it, or boIIock them?

That's on him surely?

Is that 10 goals conceded from 3 away games (including the League Cup)? It's shocking and needs to be sorted out. I was following the game on the BBC Sport website and the stats have West Browm scoring 4 from their 4 shots on target!

It's now 9 league games including the play-offs without a win. It's a terrible start and pressure is now building.

Another season, the same complaint.

We don't have a midfielder who is strong at breaking up attacks. We buzz around and try to nick the ball in advanced areas, but that leaves us wide open when we fail to pinch the ball or gift possession to the opposition.
BINGO!
I've been posting about a strong defensive midfielder who can break up play being the priority throughout the transfer window. I realise we're not going to find another mid 20's Boateng just awaiting our call.
But. Our esteemed recruitment team must know the names of those who are available. It is unacceptable that our entire midfield doesn't offer a challenge on someone who can run right through them and score.
