Adam Clayton

Previously Warnock had praised him and others prepared to help in the fight to stay up, but he has hardly been used (as has been the norm for the last few seasons) so he knows the writing is on the wall and there is no future here.
Weird end but good luck, not the player we need moving forward.

I don't get why the he played at risk is so important. That was his decision. He could have turned the deal down if he wanted to. It wasn't like he played for free. He was fully compensated and maybe hoped that it would earn him a new contract. He did it as much for himself as he did for the club.

Or should we now assume that any player reaching the end of their contract with us is playing at risk and should be praised for finishing their contract that they agreed to?

Fans get too tribal sometimes. It’s Claytons job, he owed Boro nothing. At the end of the day, he’s not good enough anymore, hope he finds some form at his next club.

No but equally they shouldn’t be criticised in the way he has for leaving at the end of it. As his tweets now confirm, he’s done absolutely nothing wrong and has played for the club with distinction.

I’d read a lot into what Adi Dem is saying, we‘ve all put familly before jobs at some point when needed. Warnock gave him the get go and he’d lost a yard two seasons ago, probably more this season. I’ll give him his skill made up for a lot of that, but times move on...... and so do we all.

Unsurprisingly goes with Karanka as his best ever manager. And says a Woodgate and Keane should of had someone experienced alongside them
