Better than Michael Carrick.. Hayden Hackney needs he's own nickname.

The 'Bedale Batistita' didn't quite take off.. but I think it had legs. Teesside Haaland seemed to catch on tho.. bit of a back handed compliment maybe?

Who else have we had?
Zico Bailey - lol
Geordie Pirlo - hmm.. clearly out done by the Prestwich Pirlo
Paddy De Bruyne.. Paddy McStare was fine.

Next up?
Mancunian Modric? - mark my words!
Aussie Iniesta? - maybe.. only time will tell.
Columbus Kroos? - 'The American Robbie Mustoe' is one hell of a mouthful.. yet I cannot think of a higher praise for a midfielder.

I was looking at this the other day. I think I found a fit. Its a bit before my time as his playing career took off from 1960 I think but he is considered one of Italy's best ever midfielders and the stats also back that up. Gianni Rivera

So that leads me to only one conclusion. Hackney could be Redcar Rivera !

Great to hear that Grant Leadbitter has been giving Hayden Hackney a few midfielder goalscoring tips!

He scored 13 goals in the 2014–15 season! More than Kike and Tomlin.. what a guy!

13 goals for a Middlesbrough striker is a great haul.. let alone a midfielder!

He did take the penalties of course.
 
I’ve been calling him the Redcar Redondo for ages. Even on here. Can’t believe it hasn’t caught on. He actually plays a similar style to Redondo.

Redondo was class like.

Not sure how many of your average boro fans will remember him mind, not always the best on overseas players. Some of our fans thought Zenden and Mendieta were the same person.

"aye, that Zendieta is pretty good".
