Your favourite opening film scene

A month ago I heard this blasting out of some one's car stopped at the lights outside my house. My daughter said WHATS THAT?. So I had to show her this. I remember in the 70s watching Clapperboard with Chris Kelly, and he was talking to Rod Goodwin about how composed it.

Great film

The start of Gladiator is good.
Romans vs German Hordes.
Had a walk round the forest it was filmed in - Surrey, near my brother's house.

Saving Private Ryan , the opening scene where they make the beach landing with the bullets whizzing around, it really felt like you we’re in amongst it.

there’s many great openers but this was the first one that came to my mind when I read the OP.

If I'd known what the beginning was like I may have thought about watching it, great film, I would have loved to have watched it in the pictures

Wyke Red, Erimus 74, I'm with you on this. I saw it in the cinema when it first came out. The GF and I were close to the screen and I felt quite chilly and the the sound of footsteps crunching in the snow and heavy breathing! (on the soundtrack I hasten to add!.... was memorable.
My own choice would be the beginning of "Back to the Future" with the ticking clock etc. Great start to a film.

Really like the scenes from goodfellas, casino and the irishman. It's the tracking and following every person , like you are walking through the rooms yourself.

Another tick here for saving private Ryan, the opening 30 minutes is full on non stop
only downside was hanks character at the end , should of been the opposite

Saving private Ryan.... Watched it in a cinema. Apparently even D Day veterans were moved and shocked by it.

A weird one.... Scream. Killing off the star name in the opening 10 minutes was very clever and its become an iconic scene (its not a spoiler as it came out in 96😂)
