Your favourite ‘worst’ sport ?

Perspective definitely would change if you went to a live race, an f1 event live is like nothing else in sport
I'd have to disagree with that. We had a school trip to Silverstone once when I was about twelve and it was rubbish. The warm up races were alright but you couldn't really tell what was going on in the Grand Prix itself and it was just different coloured blurs goings past you.

It's definitely not categorised as my least favourite sport, but I've definitely grown incredibly disillusioned with rugby union in recent years.

Just penalty after penalty and it's dull as dishwater to watch.

That might just be because I only watch England, but I've actually given up on watching it because it's not enjoyable.

Paying extra for a grandstand you see a good few corners plus a big screen to see the rest of the track, very circuit dependant but they are great events

I'll pretty much watch and take interest in most sports but definitely do get horse racing. I don't even know who won the Grand National yesterday. I didn't even realise it was on until I watched the news.

Having an active interest in sport in general eases the pain of being a Boro fan usually.

It is becasue you only watch England. Get yourself over to a premiership match. It lacks the quality of super rugby or French domestic rugby but it packs a lot of excitement in. Avoid Sale and Sarries and you'll probably see an exciting match

Forgot my main ‘worst sport’ in initial reply-Speedway which is basically 4 bikes going round in a circle 4 times then doing it again 11 more times

I have no interest in any sports other than

Football
Test Cricket
Tennis Grand Slams (Singles only)
Flat Horse Racing (because I love a bet)

I doubt I'd be able to get in to domestic rugby with no stake in the game.

I've tried getting in to rugby league before and despite enjoying the sport more than union, it just feels a bit hollow without "my team".
Step-dad is a massive Wigan Warriors fan, so I tried bouncing off that but it just wasn't the same.

That's fair enough: I've always had a "team" in both sports so it helps. Quins definitely for Union and Wolves for league. I'm not a fan of Wolves but I used to work with the cousin of the owner and so have a fondness for them. It makes a sport easier, doesn't it, when you're invested in a specific team.

Although if you want to follow union: Adopting a "anyone but Saracens" approach would help.

I'd agree I prefer League to Union. Had a housemate at uni who was/is a huge league fan, and he did get me in to it.

Some of the intricacies of it are still lost on me, and that makes it difficult to appreciate high quality play, but it's hardly the sports' fault if I don't understand it all.

Cycling. Love getting out on the road bike, but as a spectacle it is dull as dishwater!
I used to feel the same but now the Tour de France is one of my favourite sporting events. Like most team sports it takes a bit of time to appreciate what's going on in terms of strategy and tactics. Watching it in the pub, with a few knowledgeable cycling fans and plenty of wine, certainly helped.

It's always hard if you've never played a sport to I find: I like League but I prefer union and I used to play it at school. My take between the two: FWIW is that Union is a more cerebral game. There's more emphasis on tactics and skills than the big hitting, hard running League. I like the thoughfullness of it all mixed with the physicality. It does, however, mean that if you just have a passing interest League is much easier to watch. It's a lot higher tempo and the scoring system means a dull penalty kicking "scoreboard pressure" approach isn't really feasible.

Not a fan of anything involving animals so Horse Racing / greyhound racing etc is a big bore.

Motorbike racing - makes me just hate motorbikes more. They are a pointless contraption.

Tennis. I hate the part time fans that crawl out of the woodwork for Wimbledon.

Cycling is the best sport, followed by football and then darts :)
