Sure, I expect some kind of bounce but nothing that won't end up in a Labour landslide, just not Tory wipe out levels.

The gap will be cut once he is announced, some poll will be manipulated and then he’s off on his propaganda road trip. CTC nailed it above people will still vote for him and he will poll the populist vote because the majority of the current electorate are just so gullible.
There will be a concerted campaign on Facebook and other social sites that these minions thrive on once he has survived the investigation in to whether he misled parliament and before you know he’s as popular as ever.
Please nobody underestimate the danger and power this man has. On a left leaning message board with articulate people it is difficult to grasp but out there in the UK people still think he is funny, a bit goofy but overall a good egg who after all GOT BREXIT DONE, VACCINATED A NATION, ENDED LOCKDOWN, so he made a mistake having a few drinks after work but that’s just Boris!!!

too much drama attached with him, it's hit home on people's finances, and that lazy grifter isn't going to solve any problems.
He would likely end up back with calls for his resignation within 2 weeks because of the findings of his behaviour last time. His supporters will say he's paid once by resigning, but that will not sit with the majority, he might soldier on, but within another 6 months he'll have done something else untenable

If Boris Johnson was that popular, he would still be PM. This might gather a percentage of his loyalist back but not the wider electorate.
He hasn’t miraculously changed a person, I mean, he's currently ringing round for support from a sunbed in the Caribbean while Parliament sits.
The Tories are going to cause their own demise by backing him, not even mentioning the Standards Committee investigation, as soon as he does one of his inevitable gaffs any support he does have will disappear.

and that would be the first thing that would be asked, why he has spent the last 7 weeks failing to represent his electorate. He could even get recalled by them for a by election

If it was up to the British people the chances are he would still be Prime Minister, the Conservative Party removed him, not the electorate. He doesn’t need to change in the eyes of a lot voters.
I really hope I’m wrong on this, but I just think this is going to end really badly for the country if he comes back.
Just think about this, next Friday there is currently a 13/8 chance he will be PM again.
