Ye he needs to go

I'm pretty sure "I'll do the job" is clear enough.

But he did make the change and it worked, if he's getting pelters for the subs that didn't work he should at least get some credit for the one that definitely did.

I'm not saying McGree did necessarily have a knock, the point I'm making is we don't know the factors which influence a decision a manager takes and for someone to say they've proven a manager is incompetent without all of that knowledge is ridiculous..
Yeah sorry didn't see the ill do the job.

You can't have a first half like that and credit the manager for improving it. Sorry but he got it very wrong again tonight.

Jones saved him otherwise his other subs killed the game again late on.

Unfortunately the team are beginning to reflect the manager, looking clueless for most of the game, flat without passion, calm and no urgency, unconcerned when we should be worried, continually doing the same things that aren't working. He either needs to try a different approach and formation to get the best out of what we have, or the opportunity will be rightly taken away from him. Is he capable of change, unfortunately i don’t think he is, like most managers they stick to what they believe in and the vast majority end up paying the price. Maybe a win will bring some confidence back and renewed imputis and change our current trajectory, let's hope so.
On top of this, most of our players belong mid table Div 1. Any win right now will be a fluke not a turnaround, last 2 goals not exactly class moves. It's getting worse with every game, almost unwatchable now.

Tonight's selection felt like Wilder against Cov (think he was sacked strait after?)

That said I'm on the fence at the moment. Wednesday are attrocious and we made them look very decent at times BUT I still have a feeling, however thin, that we can progress if/when it clicks.

As bad as we've been, I don't think we'll go down so the wisdom of removing a manager would be questioned.

It’s too bad we couldn’t have plucked out a decent tie in Carabao Cup as I feel the squad might have pulled out of their current situation based on something to look forward to. But tonight was like watching players who were down to their last $1 at the blackjack table— stick or twist.

It’s an awful situation to be in as we know the players who were recruited were brought in believing we were a playoff contender, which now sounds like a million miles away.

During the offseason I thought we needed a really strong character in the dressing room after the playoff disappointment, but we’ve basically brought in boot camp lads who still can’t effectively shine their shoes.

I maybe wrong but I think it’ll take more than a Jack Charlton to get this team to a mid-tabled spot based on what I’ve seen over the past month.

We have seen what he can do with 60 million worth of talent gifted by Gibson and Scott.
Who was the £60m of talent last November?

I’m assuming you mean Akpom, Giles, Ramsey and Archer. All of whom he helped develop into top flight players whilst turning our results around. It wasn’t £60m of talent. 2 of them didn’t come til later anyway.

Carrick claiming credit in the Gazette for the improvement in the second half. Looks like a bit of 4rse covering coming in now.

That initial line up last night was terrible.

Hindsight wasn't even needed neither.

Saturday is a big game for him. If he starts the likes of Engels, Rogers, Silvera...and it doesn't go well for the first half, then I fear the fans will start to turn.

He needs to drop Engels & Silvera for a start.

Having slept on it, I'm going to roll back on the need for Carrick to leave the club immediately.

I'm so disappointed in his decision making but give him 3 more games to show he's learning something.

I don't think he will, but I've been wrong before.

Plenty calling for Carrick to go or calling him incompetent on this thread. Including one person who a) genuinely believes he could do a better job, and b) thinks we should try and find someone who's good at football manager.
Jesus wept.

One poster in this thread was calling for Carrick to go, and that's the same person who made those two other daft comments.

And so he should have. I remember a few people laughing at me when I said I could shoots from the 2nd half. The patterns were coming back with the introduction of jones

You're probably right, I'm just putting the cat amongst the pigeons in reaction to people saying no one wanted him to go on another thread.
We have tens of thousands of fans. One of them probably wants Farage in charge.

People are making out like we had dozens of threads saying "carrick out" and they've been smartly proved wrong when the majority of content was people correctly pointing out that we had a crap start to the season, lineups were strange, no apparent plan B and we were losing games we should be winning

No amount of hoofing will change any of that from being absolute facts and criticism was warranted because we were awful

It feels very much like the final days. Realistically, very few managers turn it around when fan feeling and performances are as they are right now, let’s be honest.
Shame, cos I like the guy and thoroughly enjoyed his football last season but the personnel decisions this season are massively worrying.

Looks like Carrick is one of the ‘very few’ thankfully. Panic over, big boy pants back on for me☺️

I know we've had this conversation previously and technically you are right about what you are saying but some fans were sailing a fine line between calling for 'Carrick out' and the negative posts about him that could have easily been interpreted as calling for his head. Some posters called for him to be given a time limit and if the defeats continued to address the situation then.

I always felt this season was going to be after the 'Lord Mayor's Show' and any team that had the heart taken out of it was going to struggle. I know he made some strange team selections but he wasn't helped with injuries. I also wonder how many of our fans would have been happy with Coburn being our main striker at the start of the season.

Those 3 games went alright mind.
