Would be good to start to settle it down today

Regarding the team that starts, I’d like to see us choose an eleven and go with it for a few games. I know we’ve had injuries and lots of new players but even within that there’s been a lot of chopping and changing, something which Carrick hasn’t really done since he was appointed.

I would hope Smith and Forss are fit to start. Carrick was slightly ‘coy’ about them on Thursday. If they are they play them. Put McGree back into the team. I think if O’Brien is going to be a big player this season then he should start as well.

It’ll be interesting to see the line-up because you can see a scenario where all of those players are left out, even if they’re all fit.

I agree.

Dieng
Smith Fry Lenihan Bangura
O'Brien Hackney
Forss Rogers McGree
Lath

If everyone is fit, the team picks itself for me.

For me, we have lacked intensity all over the park. Carrick's first pre-season and I hope he learns from it.
We need the midfield to work harder in covering our defence and we need our defenders to do their basics right.
Start at the back, stop gifting teams goals and you then have a platform.
That needs to start today, or we'll be in for a very challenging season.
Messrs Carrick/Woodgate/Danks AND tthe players.......over to you.

Great point we’ve started how we left off as you say no intensity.

Would agree on the tempo issues. I don’t think we look fully fit yet TBH, and those gaping holes in the midfield weren’t there last season. Though I think the ball not sticking to the attackers as effectively as it did last season isn’t helping either. We’re being exposed a little bit. Or a lot.

One thing though, we’ve made plenty of chances. If we score first we could absolutely hammer someone as the space opens up. We just need to get that first goal to get things moving.

We have had a horrible trait this season of conceding a goal out of the blue when we are not really under pressure. I know it's early in the season but we need to pick up some points, even if it's ugly. I personally think he should play Hackney, Howson and O'brien today and solidify the middle of the pitch

Forss right, McGree left, Greenwood 10, behind LL
O'Brien in to partner Hackney.
But 3 points more than anything.
