Worst Excess Death and Economic stats in Europe

Lap it up you right on lefties. You'd have preferred to do without furlough payments and save the economy billions then? Or just leave everyone at work in which case the economy might not have shrunk at all - well, until the bodies started piling up. And as for the death figures. Are you really implying that our NHS is less capable than every other country in Europe Pog? Perhaps we would be better to disband the health service then and organise it regionally like Germany for instance who have the best figures per capita. But that wouldn't suit your agenda then would it? Maybe you prefer the falsified figures that various countries are putting out and for that matter, Public Health England who seem to think that once positive for Covid you'll still be counted as a Covid death even if you're hit by a bus 6 months later.

Haven't you eaten out to help out this week. I have, and very welcome the reduced bill was. Still, I suppose I should have offered to pay full price and help the economy even more.
You don't need to be a "right on lefty" to be critical of the current government, you just need to be an average concerned person who's capable of seeing how inept BoJo and Co are.

The deaths have been revised down 5000 (12%) today. Not defending the government but how can someone recover from Covid in March but still be counted as a Covid death when they die in a car crash in June? Madness.
Are you telling me that 5,000 people died by accident within 3 months of contracting covid......this is a manipulation of the figures another government lie.

this is a parody right? I mean you don't actually believe any of this that you wrote do you?

Im sure that rumour was proven to be a lie anyway. People can defend and make excuses for the stats all they want, but this government is responsible for thousands of deaths thats a fact

Likewise how can someone who had all the symptoms of Covid but was never tested be put down as pnuemonia. When my friend challenged it they offered to change the cause of death to unknown infection. Thats madness as well. She asked if they could do a covid test posthumously as the person was living with an elderly partner and was told "yes we can but its a bit of a mess about". Swings and roundabouts UKLL.

If 12% is the refactoring, then I'd be doing testing to see if one of the long lasting effects of covid is lethal clumsiness.

The allusion by dropping 12% of the deaths is that their death was unrelated to covid. So, by that rationale what do you think the odds are of taking a random sample set of people and 12% of them dying within 6 months? To put it down to being run over by a bus or a car accident is comically improbable. The kind of improbable that would wipe out nearly every living person within the UK in about 4 years. It's utter lies.

I think it's really odd that you can ali revel in the face of such terrible figures. It's almost like you are happy it's so bad so you can say what a mess the government have made of things.
That couldn't be right,could it.

We have an economy based on services more than any other European country, in lock down services tend to grind to an halt while manufacturing and farming can proceed much more as normal.

The ONS will add the real cases on. Over a five week period, Scotland reported no Covid-19 deaths; the ONS found 34 deaths over the same period. The reality is that the answer for England will be in between when the ONS gives its weekly reports. From about three weeks ago the ONS was reporting about 25 deaths a day less than the daily figures; yesterday the difference between the 28 day and no limit was 57 deaths (77-20).

I put up a link yesterday with how people were getting symptoms long after they had 'recovered', many with the original ferocity. This might explain the high number of deaths in the home compared with the 5 year average.

This isn't about left and right mate.

This is about having the worst death rate in the world and having the worst economy in Europe. If you're happy with this you have serious issues

ST - it's absolutely about left and right mate.

The beginning of the OP: "Tory sympathizers and collaborators can indeed congratulate themselves on their English exceptionalism."

It's basically click bait... hoping for a response so that the vast majority (on here) can castigate it.

It's certainly not posted to encourage open minded political debate!!

To be pedantic, we don't have the worst death rate in Europe or the world, we never have, Belgium has always been far higher.
Then there's the microstates.

We had the worst death rate of the larger countries of Europe, but the readjustment has conveniently ensured that Spain has a worse death rate than us again.
Worldwide it's also ensured Peru has overtaken us as well.

You can ignore the micro states, one death makes such a big difference to the percentages that they are statistically unreliable. I believe Belgium reports their deaths differently.

Correction, I've just seen Peru.

So just one of the worst death rates and not the worst. That's ok then.
