Worst Ever Boro 11 - We have our team!

What about Matt Clarke with a bit a luck he will windup @ Huddersfield as he is not good enough for us manger is saying he is still injured say it all he doesnt want him.

Victor Fischer for me, absolutely nondescript footballer, at least Tarmo Kink could smack a ball
Such an exciting signing too!
That I’ve seen…

Lumley

Hoyte - Hines - Wood - Barragan

Flood - Thomson - Morsy

Nimely - Gestede - Connolly
Barragan, Thomson & Gestede.. Lumley on his off days was a worry.

Hoyte was fine.. just no where near as good as Luke Young. Hines was alright.. had a tough time with injuries. wood was vet promising and showed glimpses of a quality player. Willo Flood was a winger and one of the very few highlights during the Strachan era. Horrific injury. Morsy was good at what he did.. tough and ready midfielder.. master of the dark arts.. added some much needed bite to the squad.. maybe a bit too much bite. Nimely was a duffer.
Connolly under performed but unfortunately gets no where near the top trash of non scoring strikers. 1 in 9 shows shades of Gestede but he was on loan and at least he ran about a bit.

Not sure if he meets the criteria for amount of games played and sure he played on the left, but Keith O'Halloran. That game against Derby at Ayresome was one of, if not the, worst performances from a Boro player I ever remember seeing. Sure he was only a young lad though so probably gets a pass!

Tie between Tommy Wright, Allun Johnston and Victor Fischer for our coveted left wing spot - will give it a few more hours to see if anyone can break the deadlock!

On a point of pedantry it's ALLAN Johnston (he was Scottish not Welsh 😉).

Although he wasn't great overall he scored a really nice lob v West Ham and was part of that of that patched up side that was very unlucky to lose 1-0 to Arsenal in the FA cup semi. Everyone played well that day. So at least he made some sort of positive impact.

Can't remember Tommy Wright, so Fischer would be my choice, complete non-entity.

Fischer is our LW.

A good shout as he came with some pedigree but I’m not even sure what he’s meant to be good at. Not particular fast, not great at crossing, not a good finisher, not really skilful. A Danish Gary O’Neil. A welcome addition to our team.

Onto the coveted CM slots! Please just vote for your worst and we’ll tally up the two with the worst votes and slot them into our team of legends.

Kevin Thomson for me. Came with a lot of fanfare and was either injured or just totally anonymous when he did play. Must have been on a few quid too.

I remember the forum at the time and he always just needed a “run of games”. He is the poster boy of our terrible Scottish experiment.

Kevin Thomson was absolutely shocking, and then had the cheek to slag the fans off when he had returned north to the pub league. Hated watching him half heartedly pass the ball backwards and then be no where to be seen when he needed to put his foot in. Dreadful.

I think Thomson is a given.

I'm therefore going to vote for the "rocket launcher" Adlene Guedioura to partner him.

If Gibson had taken £3.5m and flushed it down the toilet that would have had exactly the same impact as this signing.

I'm not so sure of that. I think he's the only player we have had who has all the vowels in his surname. That's got to be worth something.

Definitely Kevin Thomson
Shawky
Guedioura

I'd have to play 4-3-3 because there is too much competition up front. I find it incredible Michael Ricketts doesn't appear to have made my team.

Thomson was a decent footballer who didn't manage his injuries well at all. Siliki, Isaiah Osbourne and Guerdioura were much worse.
