Woodgate not sacked - rumours

One of my main issues is who has had to learn from. Klopp, Guardiala, Favre might make it look easy but the style of football he's tried to implement here requires real vision, clear direction and communication. We have looked the opposite of well-drilled for weeks now. I think the application is there from the players but it's clear they either don't buy into, understand, or have the ability to play that way. Ultimately we tried to change too much too quickly. A manager must surely assess a team's strengths upon taking the job and reflect on how they have played previously - to not do so is gross naivety in my opinion.

Personally I don’t think Gibson will remove Woodgate before the end of the season but if he has given him any sort of ultimatum to sort things out quickly couldn’t face a more difficult couple of games. Confidence seems rock bottom mainly because nobody appears to know what they are supposed to be doing. I’m not sure what happens in training but very simple needs to be the order of the day. The stories out of Watford say that Pearson pretty much binned everything the players were working on before his arrival and set out 5 or 6 things he wanted the team to do. No fancy tactics and overthinking what the opposition would do, just do these six things well and we will improve quickly. I understand Pearson had much better players but I cant help thinking some basic simple management is what we need right now.

come on, back the lad and give him a chance
He's all out of chances now I'm afraid. Especially after his team selections not managing a shot on target in 180 minutes of football and not winning a game since December.

What was it that Albert Einstein gave as the definition of insanity - doing something over and over again and expecting a different result.

In many ways you could apply that to the recent Boro ideology of sacking manager after manager though, and giving each one a 3-4 year contract.

I think Gibbo will stick with Woody, come what may.

Obviously there are lots to learn (for Woody) and its very painful at times looked what happened to Mogga at Blackburn.

Yeah he was sacked few days after this thread, Pochettino took over days later, we’re now 1 point off the play offs and unbeaten during Pochs tenure.

Gutted we’re gonna lose Poch to Newcastle once the takeover goes through, he has been sensational since he has been here.

True Block, but how lucky are we that Uncle Tony Pulis has agreed to step back in for the last 9 games. His experience will make all the difference to our play off hopes.

Cant see gibson making any changes until the clouds of uncertainty around the championship post corona are cleared. there are a lot of decisions which impact mfc financially yet to be decided by the football league.

The day we have been waiting for, Tony the timeless one to return!
