Woodgate as next manager?

Seriously though, I like woody. Great player and seems to get the lads behind him. Only problem is when he left, he was no closer to knowing his starting 11 than when he started. Seriously helps though if you have a good squad.

When Carrick leaves we will likely be playing in the PL - we would need a better option than Woody

By the time Carrick leaves us we could well be looking at Woody as a very experienced and successful number 2. If he's learning his trade and taking things on board then it wouldn't surprise me if he was given another go.
Experience and forming good habits can bring success. If we actually have that much heralded continuity plan well in place then why not?

I'd rather give it to Danks than Woodgate TBH. He's a very highly rated coach. Let's hope it doesn't come to this though and Carrick remains at the helm for years to come.

When carrick retires from the world club champions, the mighty boro, woody as a similar age, will go too to rest on their achievements as the best coaching team of modern footballing history, the east and west upper upper tiers will be named after them… and a new bridge across the tees to bring the fans from north of the river will be known as the arron Danks crossing…

What’s to say Woody doesn’t become Carricks Peter Taylor and just go with him if it’s the Man Utd job for example?
Hopefully it’s too early to say, but I think becoming Carrick Peter Taylor might be his best bet.

If he is ever to come back to us I think, post the Carrick era, he should prove himself at a couple of other clubs first.

I never wanted Woody as manager, I didn’t believe it was Woody and I never rated Woody as manager at any point. But I did say I thought he might make a decent #2. As it happens, he is doing exactly that, and I hope it’s the way it stays.

Not sure he'd want it after the abuse he got last time. Still, stranger things happen. I reckon Danks will have more of a chance, if he wants it.
Danks is supposed to be very highly rated in the game I think . Definitely wouldn’t be a surprise to see him take over. Presuming he wants to be a manager of course

Sadly, this will happen. Gibson will not be able to resist.

100% no from me I'm afraid. Given how we played in his season in charge and the decision making which went on it's pretty much nailed on that our form under Carrick is nowt to do with Woodgate.
Woodgate has been done, so for Gibson, to go there again would almost certainly end in complete failure
Gibson will do it though sadly
