Won’t be Carrick

Full control? Coaching staff or players or both.

To be fair this time yesterday twitter was saying he wasn’t sure if he even wanted to come back to football.

Who knows?

Which manager worth his salt won't want to work with players he knows or even attracts to the Club. No good having a big name if the Club and specifically Kieran Scott want to acquire the players? This could be a long process.

WE don't want a manager that has full control!

That has to be over, we have tried that for 15 years and all we end up with is squad of players the new manager doesn't want

Most of the time new managers try and get rid of players and bring there own in to buy time imho, they can make excuses up for up to 2 years
whining on about needing 2-3 transfer windows to get what they want

We need a man manager who is tactically on point and who can manage the players at the club and the model that Gibson has decided to go down
with a director of football and signing 'development' payers, the football landscape has changed, we have tried throwing tens of millions on players
with dogshit results

A manager who never whines on about needing money or this player or that - completely fed up with excuses, teams above us who has spent
ten bob because they are organized and focused

Reiziger appears on the betting now at 10s - I know he's been linked before but I'd take him in a heartbeat.

More generally it does seem like there has been a "trigger" for Wilder's sacking and that we genuinely didn't have a successor lined up (which is usually the case as we can tap up out of work managers).

It's also a slight worry as I would expect Scott to have a list of 10-15 managerial successors for a situation just like this, albeit they may be the list we're working through currently.

The usual - take third best - because we couldnt get who we wanted.............(n)
Why the love in for Carrick, a man who never been a club manager?

Carrick , if he has turned the club down because he wanted full control over signings wants his brain examining, a great chance to show off his managerial and tactical skills instead of being
another boring whining manager constantly whining on about needing 14 transfer windows to get what he wants

Why is this a shambles?

Give full control to someone who has never been a manager or a coach before? 3 games for Utd caretaker manager and that is it?

It would’ve been a car crash appointment.

Thankfully we’re turning attentions away.

How many games has Kieron Scott coached. I'll give you a clue it's thousands less than Phelan and Meulensteen.

But if disagreements on the precise job description are the problem, it turns out he's not who we wanted. No harm in speaking to a candidate to discover that rather than second guessing it.

Again, people are taking such staunch positions on things based on nothing more than internet tittle-tattle and gambling odds. It’s bizarre. Carrick may well have been a contender, one of a group. Edwards, Dyche… it could be anyone. Possibly and probably someone not even mentioned yet. I remember when Mike Phelan was about to take over the day before Karanka popped to out of nowhere.

People using this to slag the club though. AGAIN. Get a grip! Jesus wept. Nobody has any idea who’s on the list, who the club has met, spoken with, have courted or interviewed. Scott wanted this but Gibson said no. Gibson intervened. Scott did it and wants this and that but the chairman said no to the other. It’s quite mad, watching people pretend to know things and tying themselves up in knots.

Just wait and see. Keep your powder dry. They might surprise us again.

Carrick would have been very much a signing like Robson, McLaren and Karanka.
A risk but one people inside the game seem to think is worthwhile

He will go to WBA. Then we can judge his ability with a squad similar in talent to ours
