Women's Euros 2022 Thread

I only watched after the T20 Blast finished. Its was alright. I mean it definitely isn't going to make me paint my face and go down the pub like the blokes one would (OK maybe not paint my face). I did die my hair blond for Euro 96.

I'd still like us to win it.

The most annoying part was the crowd. I'm guessing they gave away tickets to schools? Oh well I'm not a killjoy and the kids clearly had a good time👍. That said wouldn't want to be sat in it for 2 hours lol.

It’s probably a great atmosphere to take your kids to to be fair. No threats, bad language other than the retorts to parent who refuse to buy them a £6 burger. But like you not for me but I’m sure me you and 90% of this forum are not the demograph that the Euro 2022 marketing team are looking to attract.
 
My take on the Women’s game. I’ve tried my best to watch it but I’ve seen better entertainment at Marske on a winter’s day. Mind you 70k thought differently and I’m sure there’s a lot who just go along because…of this and that.

And that’s progress.

Yeah it is. Norway are a solid side and Northern Ireland are playing at their first tournament and by far the lowest ranked side in the tournament. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost heavily in every game unfortunately.

Unlike some on here I really enjoy watching the women's game, but different countries seem to be at different stages of its development and it really shows. You see some ridiculous scores in international qualifying games. I'm expecting less of that in this tournament, but really Norway look a class apart here.
 
I agree Chutney. But NI look ill equipped to give them a game.
Norway/England will be good though
 
Strong "that time we went 3-1 up against The Invincibles by mistake" vibes about this now.
 
Today's games should be good. Especially since Finland have took an early lead!

I thought it'd be really one sided but Finland have been really organised and made it hard work for Spain. Finland are miles away from Spain in terms of quality but it'd be great to see them get something from the game for their sheer hard work and determination.
 
Feel bad for Denmark today. They provided about 90% of the crowd. The town has been full of Danish shirts all day. Barely any Germans.

Although I did randomly end up in the German teams HQ this morning!

I hope not, I've got tickets to the Sheffield semi final and final. As much as I enjoyed watching the German team, I really I hope I don't see them there!

Gotta say, dunno who I fear England getting in the quarter final more. Spain and Germany both looked really strong today.
