Wilder, what's the score?

Excellent bit of shithousery from the Boro fans tonight, waiting until virtually the last kick of the game to sing that song.

If we'd sang it at him earlier in the game we could have ended up with egg on our face.

Having a cheese and pickle sandwich and a nice latte now to celebrate. Enjoy your night (y)

Would have been a strange chant at 0-0 to be fair.

Not a fan of goading chants myself, especially when it's aimed at opposition support.
"Your support is F***ing ****" whilst we're all sat in relative silence as well was an odd one, though it's obviously a staple chant of every fanbase in the country.

Got no problem with Wilder and by all accounts he was very dignified in defeat.

To be fair, he didn't have much choice. It wouldn't have been a good look for him if he'd said "We were the much better team, I'll get the last laugh when we get promoted".

Actions speak louder than words. He derailed our season courting the Burnley job when it was looking like we were going to be in with a genuine shout of making the play-offs. He'd literally only just stepped through the door and showed zero loyalty or respect to the club.

Was a weird night, atmosphere felt pretty good at times and then would go into a lull.

Not sure why the South stand were trying to start the ‘we’re the south stand red army’ at 0-0 either. Glad the north didn’t join in.

I thought it was a disappointing attendance to be honest, especially when you take into account Sheff Utd bringing a big following.

I know we got beat last weekend but even with it being early into the season it felt like a big game up against one of the leagues best teams. Thought we'd have hit 26k at least.

But, you have to realise, it’s not cheap for the walk ups and we’ve had some pretty rubbish results at home and been beaten away by a couple of very average teams, we have to be honest with ourselves….

The supporters expect better than served up so far and that is always reflected in the crowd size, keep winning and drawing in the games we can’t win and watch them grow

Simple really 🤷‍♂️🙏🏻

19,000 season ticket holders, two stinking results in a row, Wednesday night, live on Sky, very expensive prices, mid table before kick off.
At most 2,000 away fans.

We were never getting five thousand walk-ups last night in the circumstances.

I think its highly likely we now have 4 - 6k supporters that would like to go to every home game but have simply been priced out. My daughter and her partner went last night using my 2 season tickets. For a couple in their early 20's, working hard but new to home ownership and bills, there is no way they could find an extra 2 hundred quid a month to attend 2 or 3 games. Sad but true.

Dead right … I have mates who used to have ST’s dropped them due to family commitments and now have to be very selective on games as they simply aren’t in a position to go as and when they chose financially. Real shame as I would class these lads as ‘real fans’ despite not going every week nowadays.

Know a few people in the same boat.

Instead of going to games, sure the supporters will do their bit by putting money into the club buying replica shirts and.......oh, hang on 😉

There was a long thread over the last few days regarding our fans, thankfully the majority were on side last night. Agree it hit a bit of a bit of a lull at times, and that's when the dissenting voices could be heard around me, desperate to find something to get angry about (you know, the ones who want a forward pass every time, or for a player to beat their man every time, but equally are furious if we lose possession doing so).

I thought the atmosphere was very poor last night, particularly for a night match. Although I do think generally it's been fairly poor most of this season. I'm not sure the red faction move has worked out.

However I'm a firm believer that it takes the team on the pitch and in the stands together to create an atmosphere (i.e players on the front foot playing with a high tempo gets the crowd going and vice versa). Things definitely picked up a bit second half on and off the pitch, but it was an underwhelming atmosphere for me.

Whilst I empathise with anyone priced out of coming to the game, and our walk up prices (and prices in general) are atrocious, I seriously doubt the 4-6k figure of fans desperate to get to a game.

I had my wife's and eldest sons tickets I couldn't give away last night, as did a couple of friends, and there were plenty of empty seats around us in the north that were empty, where season ticket holders hadn't came, but evidently couldn't find someone to make use of a ticket either.
