Wilder says Boro wont be bullied over Spence deal

Spuds fans are turning on Levy again - its ok having a fancy glittery stadium, but theres naff all in the trophy case and the team on the pitch arent living up to their lofty expectations. Bring on Forest(y)
 
People going on about Levy, and what a hard negotiator he is.......but has he ever dealt with Gibson with a proper nark on?
It now seems fairly obvious that Spurs are taking the p*ss a bit assuming as we are a Championship club we are skint, need the money etc etc. But we are not, and if he won't pay what we want - f*ck off. Cue Conte and the fans having a melt down.
The kn*beads should also have not come out at the end of last season boasting how they are backing Conte with £150m. Then start acting like shysters over a few million for a very highly rated ENGLISH player (always increases the fee).
 
I assume gibbo knows well the tactics of Levy....I assume also that he will not be held to ransom for much longer...
Principle will have to kick in.
We need shot but they can't be allowed to take the pisss....

I would rather sell him to forest for 12 rather than spurs for 15 approx...

Also fills a problem position for Spurs and they are loaded.

Don’t see their problem really.
 
Seems likely that up till now other clubs have been "monitoring the situation" as they say because it looked like the player was set on Spurs.

If it hasn't happened already sounds like more clubs are making enquiries now because Spurs are way off the valuation.

I think there's another angle to consider and that is the setting of a dangerous precedent. If we allow Spurs to get him for a cut price fee because "he doesn't want to play for us" then what's going to happen next time a player wants away?

Regardless of what Spence "wants" the 2 years left on his contract is a position of strength for us. Sounds like we've been happy to go along with his wishes re: preferred destination up till now, but if they aren't going to pay his value the club do right to see who else is interested. Competition between other interested clubs will ultimately decide the fee.

Seen him play a few times for Wales. Except for Bale. He’s been the best player by far. I rate him.
 
I'm in the camp that doesn't see an awful lot in Spence but the club more than any other than makes me question that is Dortmund. If their interest is genuine they seem to have a knack for spotting young talent and really getting the most out of them suce as Sancho and Bellingham. Perhaps I'm missing a trick with him?

Regardless, he doesn't want to be here so we need to let him go; if Dortmund are genuinely interested I'd be tempted to go there rather than Spurs.

Agree, really good player.

Fulham were being quoted £20m last season apparently, that's why he hasn't already gone there as some part of the Carvalho deal.

Just because he has come through Liverpool's academy it seems acceptable to bang an extra £4-5m on his price.......and he's good but that much better than Spence?

Surely it would be best if spences agent started rumours about forest offering spence a great package and willing to meet boros demands. surley they want to force spurs hand aswel

The little I saw of him for Fulham last season he look massively average & hardly even Championship standard... I guess he was just having an off day or two..
 
If they’d pay £11m for the livery lad then surely they’d be happy to £15m plus add ons for a player they’ve triad before they buy .
Liverpool players tend to go at above their true value imo .
The beauty about swelling to forest there’s a better chance of getting more jn the future based on a sell on clause
