Wilder says Boro wont be bullied over Spence deal

Really need to stop pussyfooting around. Give Spurs 24 hours to pay what we want or inform interested parties of his availability. If Spurs want to continue playing silly games this ultimatum will either conclude the transfer or open up the availability to others

do you really think those others are unaware he is available ?

Unless maybe there is thriving PL on the moon.
On a positive note you are not responsible for negotiating the deal

It has been reported that Spence’s agent has informed other clubs his client wishes to join Spurs. Not exactly a “ come and get me” offer. Stick to moon watching - you never know what you’ll see….

What are you talking about? Unless you're one of the parties directly involved in negotiations, you have absolutely no idea what's happening with this transfer or any other deal the Boro is working on.

Spence wants to leave and the club are happy to sell. The deal will be done before the window closes. They always are. There is no way that Wilder and his staff will have Spence knocking around the place after August.

I’m talking about what has been reported - no more, no less. Could be a load of billow - like other stuff reported about this protracted transfer.

You seem to be placing a lot of emphasis on something that could be a load of billow TBH.

I'd also disagree that this transfer has been protracted. It may *feel* that way because our season finished ages ago and Forest were in the playoffs and Spence was doing well on the telly. Then he went away with England and presumably went off on holiday after that. And nobody outside of those negotiating have any idea what's going on.

Just, be patient. He'll be gone by the time the window closes.

I’m not happy with him coming back to Rockcliffe if that is the intention.

Can’t we arrange for him to train with Spurs until Levy coughs up? Or even Forest? They seemed to like him. Put some insurance in place in case he gets injured?

You’d think spurs would be giving the agent a nice sweetener to do that .

Why would you do that? Got to give the impression to other clubs that if they don't meet our asking price we are more than happy for him to stay at the club. Once you start him training with the kids or whatever you are saying that he will be sold no matter what. Then it gives them the incentive to lower the price.

Also if Spence really has no intention of staying and wants to leave that badly he might then become more open to moving to a club that isn't Spurs as he knows its the only way he gets to leave.

The concern is the when and the price. Does it allow us enough time to do our business or are we left with the money but no time to sign?
Have we played a month of fixtures without our first choice strikers in place due to the delayed Spence funds. I have no doubt he will be sold but the when and the price, does concern me.

Having him train @ Rockcliffe and play in friendlies is best way to put him in the shop window for me. For me we set a price and stick with it. Certainly to close to the end of the transfer window.

He's a young English Premier League level player now a regular in the under 21s - £10m is just too low even with some add ons. Spence developed a lot last season. Burnley have just paid £4m for a Div 1 player with one years experience in Div 1 and was playing for Newport County in Div2 in 2021. Quite a number of young quality Championship players have gone for £15m plus in recent seasons.

We received a promotion bonus from Forest

Season ticket sales are up on last season by around 20% in number plus a 6.6% price increase

FA Cup run generated cash

Compensation from Mel Morris from Derby financial cheating in 2019.

Three loan players returned, four first team players released.

Ok - to buy 2 strikers would be £12m and we don't have that money at present - we will probably have to use the loan market to some degree. I would be enquiring about Lucas Joao @ Reading, 29 in September and only 1 year on his contract means a low fee (35 goals in 79 games in last 3 seasons for Reading). To me he is step up on our three loan strikers last season.

Latest "In The Know" journalist reports stalemate - suggesting Spurs wont pay over £10M for him, and we want £15M.
Who do Spurs think they are?
They presume little Championship Boro will hold out the begging bowl and take Spurs crumbs.
Wilder has already said he understands Spence`s desire not to return to us - and move on.
But like he says - "he`s our player"...and we wont sell if it doesnt marry up the interests of the club with the player and prospective buyer.
If the lad doesnt go to Spuds, he may well have to return to training here.
Or his agent may find him a move elsewhere - for our valuation.
Spurs loss.
Forest are reportedly back in the running if Spurs wont cough up the cash.

We should ask for swaps and loans instead of dealing with Spurs..

Bayern - Joshua Zirkzee & Marc Roca

Arsenal - Eddie Nketiah & Auston Trusty

Wolves - Dion Sanderson & Ryan Giles

Brentford - Charlie Goode & Josh Dasilva

I posted a few weeks back that we should set publicly out stall out with Spence, for this very reason. We may very well have informed Spurs that we won't accept less than £20m, but if its in the public domain everyone knows where they stand. If Spurs, or anyone else for that matter, aren't prepared to pay what we want, then he stays.

Also, it could make the deal more complex if we, or they, are looking to include any of their players in it, like Parrott.......... or Son.
