Wilder Rumours

No we are saying if it is true and it looks likely then that is an issue.

If not then fine but you can’t just dismiss this now.

This is a national radio station saying it not message board tittle tattle.
How does it look likely? You’ve decided it does based on… what? Some TalkSport bloke posting a picture of a plate of fish and chips?

If he goes to Bournemouth then yes, hands up I was wrong and I’ll be disappointed in him and also the club for messing up the transfer window and best opportunity to get our act together in years.

If he stays, as happened after the Burnley nonsense, then I can absolutely guarantee that those who’ve been pushing this rumour will not be on here saying ‘sorry, got it wrong. I shouldn’t have ran with a baseless internet rumour and kept pushing it like it was fact or based on some tangible evidence’.
In fact they’ll use it in the same way they’ve used the Burnley nonsense for the last 6 months…. Zero lessons learned.

The point is people take internet rumour and treat it like its gospel and anybody who says ‘hold on a minute, is there any evidence for this?’ are somehow the bad guys? Okkaaaayyyyy.

Maybe there isn't any truth in it, but maybe there is. You've been very dismissive over all of this, and called people out, but its starting to appear that there COULD be some truth in it.
Again, there’s no evidence. If actual evidence comes to light I would change my view on it. I’ve called people out because I have sense that a lot of those people have been after this sort of thing happening since the Burnley talk. People lost faith or trust in him and are now just waiting for him to be sacked or take another job. And don’t really rest until it happens.

I think the Wilder era is probably done already TBH. It’s a sad state of affairs.

That's very true, However, I care more about our activities on the pitch and what's going on behind the scenes. Both have been terrible of late, and its usually only a matter of time before the manager ends up taking the fall for it.

Viv there’s clearly an issue here one way or another your refusal to accept doesn’t mean it’s not there.

I think as I said previously we will all know one or another very soon.
My point is where is your evidence that there’s an issue? I’m not saying there isn’t one, I’m asking those indulging in this speculation to show evidence of Wilder’s courting other jobs or trying to engineer a way out of the club. Without actual evidence, it’s just horse’s pish.

13 pages. Just let that sink in. 13 blo0dy pages this thread has created.

Back in the day on the old board when we used to question - what does it take to get a ton thread - I would not have envisaged this.

Precisely. Suppose he might have some insider info (if so why be so cryptic though, his source is either happy for him to share the info or he isn't).

Or maybe he's just seen the bookies odds (usually pretty worthless) like everyone else and is trying to be funny/clever.

I'd be a bit surprised if Bournemouth were after a bloke who's most recent achievement was relegation from the league they're trying to stay in and who's current side are bottom 3 of the championship. Particularly following their ruthlessness in sacking Parker.

But anything is possible I suppose.

You've come up with no evidence. Nothing.
Until you do it doesn't mean it's there.
If he's sacked ot leaves it will be nothing related to what's been said on here.

And if people think Football Managers are different to anyone else who networks in an Industry that relies on networking then they are extremely naive.

If and at the moment it is an if then he’s playing a dangerous game

Gibson quoted in the gazette 2007

You can't go through life trying to achieve your ambitions at the expense of others. "We shake hands when we meet but he's never been back since he left and he's not on my Christmas card list. "We never want to get into that situation again, I don't want a guy who is always thinking about the next rung on the ladder. He just saw us as a stepping stone and if you can make enemies at a club like ours, you're going to be in trouble when things go wrong."

Problem is, at the moment we are just that - a rung on a ladder for any ambitious manager, which I suspect Wilder is. The club is an unbalanced mess which requires a lot of work, clearly. Why get your hands dirty fighting with the Director of Football and paddling around in the lower reaches of the Championship when you can take a Premier League team for more money and no one will blame you if relegation happens?

Woodgate in a lot of ways was the perfect appointment; no expectation, build slowly. Trouble is Jonny was utterly crap. Warnock too - probable last job, no sodding off when a better offer comes along. Warnock was too much "realism" though, he managed us like we are, a mid table Championship outfit on the edge of the play offs. With Wilder it was give me a pre-season, and we'll be champions.

What a mess. Maybe it needs a Grant Leadbitter type appointment, rather than Scott Parker has been promoted! He knows what to do!

At the risk of being boring and contentious: until we can confirm with absolute, categorical, certainty, this speculation has no base in fact and is absolute BULLSCHITT!

It's the same posters as campaigned against NW. Made this place a misery for months. Oh well, UTB
If that’s aimed at me then I’ll say now I like wilder and hope he stays but things have changed under him our style our attitude is just not there in the same way. Now I have no idea what happening or isn’t happening but using my own eyes I can see there is an issue at the club that isn’t right.

It really doesn’t matter who the next manager is, he will be given players he didn’t ask for and won’t get the ones he does. Repeat and wonder why we’re not successful.

The recruitment team have their latest victim.
There may be some truth in that fassy(y)

Well said. Trouble is social media throws fuel on smoulders. Wish it wasn’t around sometimes.

“Now I have no idea what happening or isn’t happening but…”

You’ve said yourself, you have no idea. So why indulge in the speculation and behave as if it’s been established that Wilder is about to leave?

The fella that started all this off has admitted he made it all up because he was bored. Posters on here, (I say posters as they can't be Boro fans) with their own agendas are just hoping that it's true.
he was bored
