Wilder reiterates commitment to Boro

"Of course, we are all ambitious. Everybody wants to work at the highest level, I want to work at the highest level with this football club. I think everybody understands that. Sometimes you just have to deal with the noise and nonsense that comes. If I was on social media, I would have put it to bed as soon as it came out. Thankfully, I’m not so I had to wait until Friday but these are things that you have to deal with in this game.

What About MFC website Chris why did you let the rumours go on it killed your chance of that job with the other owners looking at what was going on here is looking for a loss on saturday because your future isnt with this club we all know that now you have made yourself very clear.

It's a fact that when there is an absence of information people will always fill it themselves.

and Twitter has simply increased the size of the information vacuum.
No point trying to fill; however much you say, speculation will begin at the point you stop talking.

I'm not on it anymore; it's just Some Bloke in a Pub for the 21st Century.

Oh **** off. **** sake.

It's intersting, because I rarely use twitter or Facebook anymore, both are a generally erosive, debilitating experience and I feel better that I don't.

He'd denied the rumours once already, presumably the club knew there was no truth in it, why would they release an article to deny something he's already denied?

If he did deny it every time it happened, you’d have people saying “he doth protest too much,” etc. Or the equivalent. People said “no smoke without fire,” earlier on this week. I mean, that’s what you’re dealing with.

As I said on a separate thread, that’s the position we’re in now. Some people will always refer to these links, regardless of whether there’s any truth in them. Especially when we don’t win. And sometimes even when we do.

🤔

He needs to start getting the team to perform and putting some points on the board. If he doesn't then there won't need to be any speculation because he'll be gone anyway.

Hopefully he and the players can take some positives from this and kick on now starting with a win tomorrow. Wilder is very good at talking, but talk is cheap. We must start winning games, and we have a great opportunity with these next 3.

Must be frustrating for someone like Wilder, who as he says doesn't use social media, to hear this kind of stuff and not be able to respond to it directly until a certain opportunity like a presser. No matter how used to it he says he is.

Perhaps the club's own social channels could have intervened and put out something whether it be an article, interview etc that indicates it's all rubbish. Just an idea, better to come from the club than some local reporter.

I'm just sick of the rumours as I'm sure everyone is.

i wish i could. rarely use fb but i do like twitter for the footy stuff. though i must admit i leave myself open (as somebody who suffers with anxiety) to reading things that really affect my mood.

Hope someone has passed on this information to the lad running the clubs Twitter account.

This could all have been avoided if he'd just tweeted Wilder a happy birthday message.

Hope someone is checking whether he's got a wedding anniversary coming up.......

Because then they have to engage with every hysterical half bit rumour. And then if they did address it you get all the smoke without fire *****. If they denied it, it must be true.
I think the solution is people need to stop being Fanny's.
