Wilder delusional

Yes That’s certainly true but that’s a different issue to “we struggle to score” which simply isn’t the case.

Given the possession we have the chances we create - we struggle to score. Our openess at the back is very likely linked to us being attacking and dominating possession. This is fine if you convert your chances. We don't.

Any team can go out there be really attacking, create loads of chances, convert some of them and say we are the highest scorers in the division so our goal scoring is ok whilst being bottom of the league.

Goal scoring is a huge issue given how much we concede. As per my original post - it is a bad combination.

My issue with that though is... aren't we supposed to be, or trying to be, one of the division's best teams?

So when we play the top teams, we need to beat them, to be up there. To be considered in an amongst them.

If you only have hope when you're not playing the top 6 and focus on getting points off lower level opposition, you're a middle of the road mid table team.

I went to the game last night. Travelled down from Middlesbrough and got home at 4am thanks to the road works on the M1.

Just had a look at this board and saw this thread titled "Wilder delusional". Im assuming its response to his post match interview. I listened to Wilder on my way home and absolutely agree with everything he said. I would go as far as to say he nailed it in his interview.

We played probably the best team in the division on their home turf last night and we were the better team. Having being the best of the 2 teams we've still come away with no points on that occasion but we're looking good at this level.

We walked back to our car and talked to a couple of watford supporters and they read the game exactly as we did. They shaded the first half and we were the better team in the second half.

What we do need is a quality pacey midfielder in the centre of the park and if necessary we should spend big (within our budget) to make this happen.

Sit back and allow Wilder the time to do what he's doing and we'll reap the rewards.

same, exactly the same, two of them said they were absolutely hanging on second half.
