Why start Greenwood? aka the invisible man!

Greenwood definitely has ability, at £1.5m I’d take him but if I was Kieron Scott I’d be looking elsewhere first.

I watched him closely today and his work rate was very poor, spent most of the game strolling about and watching when we were under pressure!
I think he has checked out of the MFC ‘hotel’ so to speak….probably knows he hasn’t done enough to warrant a good offer and is mentally elsewhere which shows in his game….

What have you seen to make you think that? He can't get in the squad, doesn't look like a striker nor a winger and certainly isn't getting in our midfield. So where does that leave him?
He isn’t ready to be starting, yesterday would have boosted him no end. Let’s have some patience with our players.

He has nothing going for him at all.

He cant control the ball, when he does he runs down blind alleys.
He runs around a lot but thats only so he can constantly foul someone.

I wouldnt give 1.5p for him.

Send him back now

Nothing going for him at all, yet only Forss of our current squad has more goal contributions this season

He hasn’t scored for over three and a half months. He hasn’t made a goal since the middle of January. 4 of his 5 goals came in a 5 week burst between October 7th and November 11th. 2 of his 3 assists came in back-to-back fixtures pushing four months ago.

Tbh, he's looked ***** of late but just like Silvera, he's had a handful of absolutely shocking misses that if he even puts half away I think the narrative turns more on his favour like it's gradually coming around on Latte Lath now. Can that be coached?

Strange one as I don't really like him but if we could afford £1.5m for him as a squad player to fight for a place, I'd give it a shot. If we need that money to spend on a starter though I'd be looking elsewhere. Even then, I'm not sure we can necessarily do better for that kind of money.

Oh yeah, he's had a poor spell since Christmas, no doubt about that. But he's a young player in his first full season as a regular, wouldn't we expect that?

A poor spell… or a third of the season? I would expect a young player to experience patches of good, bad and indifferent form but save for a 5-6 week spell in Autumn we’ve had precious little out of him.

I think that's harsh. He took a bit of time to settle into the side, then established himself and was good up until probably the Sunderland game in January. He's faded since then but hasn't been alone in that. If he'd come through our academy rather than being on loan from Leeds I think opinions would be different on his progress.

He’s 22 though. If he was 18 or 19 and in his breakthrough season you’d be impressed with his contributions. But he’s not a young boy. He drifts through games and hasn’t really developed into anything imo. Is he better now than when we signed him? I’m not sure he is. There’s little or no evidence to suggest he is. He had a really good burst and then drifted out of it. He’s more likely to get booked than score a goal at the moment.

Yeah but it is his first full season. One year older than Pharrell Willis. If Willis breaks into the team next season and is 2nd in the goal contributions charts but fades after xmas I think we'll be delighted.

He showed a bit of promise with some of his earlier performances but his form has regressed over the course of the season.

Had it played out the other way around, and he'd have started off poorly but put in better performances as the season progressed, then I'd be saying it might be worth taking a punt on him, but I actually think the Leicester goal in particular just papered over the cracks. I don't rate him.

I would much rather start Gilbert or Silvera over Greenwood who just strolls about, at least they are our players. I would send Greenwood back now !
I guess we were hoping to see him step up and show more and convince us to buy him. I think he’s still two years away from being a quality champ player. I’ve switched to the don’t bother buying him camp
