Who is the most complete footballer ever?

Cristiano Ronaldo

He's pretty much better at 4 of those aspects (passing, shooting, dribbling, running) than anyone else mentioned on this thread, and he's also fitter, in better shape, consistent, and a winner, and he's done it for nearly two decades.

Also, his heading/ jumping is exceptional.

The only thing he may not be great at is defending/ tackling, but who knows as no manager would be daft enough to ask him to tackle, when he can save energy for other things. I would bet he could have been a better defender than most though, if he wanted to, especially as a left/ right/ wing back.

I still think Messi is the best player with a ball at his feet though, and Fat Ronaldo the best ever striker, but Cristian Ronaldo is the most complete.
Yeah Ronaldo is a good shout, I agree that whilst he doesn’t do much defending he clearly has the physical attributes to enable him to do it should he have had to.

Don’t agree with your assessment of his passing ability though.

Agree with the Gullit / Ronaldo suggestions.

Not feeling the Pele suggestions, as good as he must have been just to small to be an effective centre back.

Paul Warhurst - defender, midfielder and forward

From central defender and full back became a proficient striker and then a Premier League title mainly as a midfielder.

There's a distinction between versatile and complete. Milner and Maradona are very different levels of player.
Example: Van Basten was complete, although might have been a lousey defender, but Gullit was versatile (although pretty near complete).

We're missing out the goalkeeping aspect :ROFLMAO:, and I don't fancy Pele's chances in goal much, being 172cm (5ft 8" to you old lot).

I’ve given this some more thought and I am still of the opinion that it’s me.

or possibly Gullit.

There were 2 questions though.

Most complete, and most versatile.

Pele for the former, one of many for the latter.
