Who does Wilder throw under the bus tonight ??

Howson took too long on the ball but there was no option on for him.
That was my thought - it looks really bad for him losing the ball there, but he was badly let down by those nearby. His only real mistake was being to slow to recognise that.

Wilder is speaking about expectations because he knows deep down we are badly under-performing. If he can convince the fans that it's a long-term plan then it buys him more time.

Reality is though, that first-half performance was as bad a half of football I've ever seen from a Boro team. We can't keep playing that badly, because the fans will turn.
Managers don’t get time for long term plans at this level, and to be honest, for a manager of his level, this is a good job but he seems bent on throwing that opportunity away.

Can't belive I wasted 10 quid for that dross. The team just smacks of a fragile mentality. They can play football but crumble under any pressure or expectation. Prime example again last night, got two goals back then seemed to struggle once they got a sight of getting back in the game.

Crooks has seemed to be going through the motions this season. If you watch him he plays with a completely emotionless look on his face. Even when he's scored he barely raises a smile. I don't know if wilder can turn this around as we seem bereft of any plan or fight.

I'd be tempted to try Jones as the rcm with Smith as wing back. Might makes us more solid defending with pace in midfield.
