Which names have you ever had on the back of your Boro shirt?

Only ever had two myself which were Nigel Pearson and Alen Boksic. Being a centre-half myself back in the day I really enjoyed watching Big Nige. Big, strong, tough, hard in the tackle, uncompromising and a great leader. An old school centre half who during my formative years of watching the Boro epitomised everything a centre half and leader should be. I always thought it a shame that during a considerable period of his career he had very poor luck with injuries and was always only half-fit. Whilst he still had a great career he could probably have achieved more had he been injury free.

Alen Boksic speaks for himself and while he divides opinion he is, for my money, the best striker we have ever had at the Boro purely in terms of ability. Viduka not far behind mind, and he certainly did more for the Boro. However, I genuinely believe that if Alen Boksic didn't have the injury record that he did (and perhaps a bit more professional approach to the game) that he'd never have been in a Boro shirt. His career would have been spent at the top European clubs IMHO.

Boksic on the black away kit we had with the red and white stripes down the front. Not sure what material they made that one out of but it wasn't comfortable. Felt like it'd been knitted from a camel's pubic hair!

That's the same top I had Boksic on too. My Pearson top was the red home Dickens shirt which I adored

Don't think I've ever had a name, but I did have a 3 on the back of my 1986/1987 shirt as I loved Colin Cooper as a 9 year old.

When we bought it it had no sponsor (as we didn't have one) and so midway through the season we took it to Dickens to get their name printed on the front. I cant remember whether I had the "3" done at the same time, or whether that came later from the club shop.

The only Boro shirt I ever had was an old Lindy Delapenha shirt complete with No 7 on the back. It was given to me by Barry Geldart, who used to work with my dad at British Titan. Seem to remember I was told it was the shirt he wore when bursting the net at Ayresome Park with a penalty (it was a long time ago so that bit may be just a myth!)

1989/90 I had ‘Brennan’ and the number 8 on the back of my Heritage Hampers shirt..it amazing the players we adored when we where younger 😁

Boksic
Juninho
Beck
Moreno
Boateng
Queudrue
Festa

Ziege

More than I realised!

Never had a name on any of mine.

Felt pretty cheated and the shirt was hardly worn :poop:
I felt a right mug - probably the same as the guy who designed the 'Alfonso Alves Goal Machine' banner in the North Stand:)

I bought a Viduka one of Ebay as an adult. To be honest it was a big..... Those older shirts weren't flattering lol.

To he honest it always got a good response at matches. People coming up to me saying 'I wish we still had him' 👍

My mates brother had Johnson 18 from the season Gareth was binned (blue shirt I think). Tried to sell it twice on ebay with no joy.... Can't think why.
