Where was the butlins in Filey?

That's too far south, it was about where the 'Y' is in the Haven Primrose Valley Holiday Park text is on your map.
Fair point. I’d mYbe argue that the old south perImeter is just about right actually But hey we are only talking about a few hundred yards. He will spot the land when he’s there.

2 weeks there every summer between 1972 - 1979. Loved the excitement of the Puffing Billy road train from the train station, through the tunnels and into the resort. Magical place for a young lad.

Butlins worked there 79 the year terry Griffiths won the world snooker title, he was the resident pro for the camp.it was next site after primrose valley.
Saw him play an exhibition match there against David Taylor around then. Must've been my last year there, as we went every summer for years.

more likely he played jim meadowcroft who was also a regular at filey, dont ever recall david taylor at filey.
No it was David Taylor. I remember him being introduced to the crowd as 'the silver fox'. He was a bit rubbish and I remember my dad saying afterwards "Silver fox? Foxes are supposed to be cunning! There was nowt fox-like about him, he was terrible!" Terry Griffiths was good mind.
