Where is Liz Truss?

Unprecedented times never known someone so incompetent hold office. I think the cons conference will be a disaster for her and she will be gone shortly.

Her press team thought she would have an easier time on regional radio interviews, instead of facing the usual national Wolfpack. Totally failing to realise there some very good journalists out there.
She got absolutely rinsed. They were taking no prisoners.

I see Dominic Cummings is saying on Twitter that she's probably going to respond to Putin's annexation speech tomorrow by escalating things. Would be some legacy, presiding over the death of HM, a financial crash and finally WW3.

I know someone who works on government communications and their opinion of Truss is that if its not written in front of her then she no idea. Given the way she refused to answer questions this morning I think you know the veracity of what my connection says about her.

She even told some radio stations that no household would pay more than £2500 for energy because of the cap; that's completely false. How can she not know that the £2500 figure is the cost for an average (median) household based on the capped rates?

Ken Clarke calling it Latin America style politics.
She really does have to go although for us Labour people she's electoral good news.
Tbh she's doing so much damage to the UK I'd like to see here gone now though.

It was always the concern with Truss. Better for labours chances but what damage would she do in the meantime? (particularly given who was backing her).

Mind I don't think anyone predicted the speed she'd get stuck into it. It's caught everyone out.

Great article in the statesman today about the history of neo-liberalism, how we've got here etc.

Interesting that for years it was the role of the ultra right-wing think tanks to push the boundaries of policy, "out-there" thinking etc. This week they've been quoted as saying they actually can't keep up now, the policy has moved far beyond even their wildest thinking.

Clearly there are priorities being met here (largely the ones of a small group of multi-million hedge fund managers) but the whole thing does feel a little like an experiment in how far things can be taken.

Of course there's a reason no one has taken things this far before, because it's absolutely f**king mental to do so.

Those closest to her also note an extremely disruptive streak to Truss, a likelihood to do things "for the hell of it, to see what happens". I think this is being played out perfectly this week!

giving a complete cretin with a destructive streak authority over the use of a global nuclear power's nuclear arsenal for a laugh sounds to me like a giggle too far
