Where did Souness live when at Boro?

One of his best mates in football was Alan Murray, they struck up a great friendship when Souness signed for the Boro, although Alan had since left the club by then, which carried on throughout Graems playing & later management career
Spoke with Alan a few times of his friendship

Souness was in a box near our seats for the Norwich play off match. He was with Thierry Henry so presumably something to do with the telly or media.

He was clearly gutted we got beat, I think there’s still a lot of the Boro in him.

He spoke at the 73-74 former reunion I attended, after talking about his landlady he then went on to talk about his departure
There was talk about Man City & Leeds vying for his signature
He travelled down with the great, late Willie Maddren for talks with Leeds & said, if Liverpool don't come in for me I'm staying at the Boro, we were as good as both those teams back then
As we all know Liverpool came calling, his final game was at home to Norwich on the 31st December 1977, Boro's next game was away to Liverpool on the 2nd January 1978 Souness was a Liverpool player by then, obviously not involved

Boro are still in his heart

At the reunion I have a great photo of Souness with myself & my late brother who was a massive Boro fan

Souness loved his Boro landlady didn’t he?

Listening to Craig Johnstone talking about his time at the Boro recently, he was another great Boro player poached by Liverpool with Teesside still in his blood.

ref 1976/7 - I imagine Craig Johnston used to hang about the MFC car park and clean stuff for Graeme Souness to earn money for his own rent. Big Jack had rejected Johnston, but Johnston refused to give up on becoming a professional

Think he lived out in East Harlsey too. My wife had family who lived out that way, and think my brother in law knocked on his door to get an autograph; think he got short shrift from the big man :)
We lived in East Harlsey for 10 years from 1975 don’t think he lived there then. Ray Hankin’s girlfriend bought our first cottage and he was always great fun at the kids parties. Remember him and I think it was Boersma were playing for Peterborough at the time and always late setting off for games. Malcolm Allison was also a regular in the Tontine at lunchtimes during his stint here

Phoebe Appleby. It was in a newspaper story when he left.

It's amazing the useless details the brain can recall even though I can't remember what I did yesterday.

Nice bloke Muzz and good to natter with.

Graeme and Craig both wanted to leave to boost their careers but only because Boro were not strengthening. They were fantastic Boro players and heroes who made the Club a fortune.

Dave Hodgson is the one who definitely didn't want to leave to go anywhere, even Liverpool.
Another hero, great player for us and made the club a fortune.

The club was woefully run off the pitch from promotion in 1974.

I remember around 1972/73 going to a party after drinking in the Penny Black in Hartburn. It was on the then new estate near the pub. The party was (I think) at Willie Maddren's house. Played catching peanuts in the air with Willie and Graeme.
Older players lived just off Birkdale Road - Gordon Horner (two doors from our house) and Bill Gates out the back.
Those were the days!

I think Bill Gates was Swinton Road in Hartburn. My Dad used to know him and get free tickets etc.

For me, the best ever player for the mighty Boro
Him and TLF. Both very different in very different eras and I can't decide between the two.
Despite appearances Souness could be a very humble man.
He was as influential for us as Keane for Utd and Viera for Arsenal.

Wonder what he'd be worth these days?
