When was your pomp?

Had some ups and downs, but still feel the best is yet to come.even though in my 60s now Im really looking forward to the next 5 years+ Have more financial and emotional freedom than I've had through the years.
Probably have more self belief than Ive ever had and maybe just maybe have overcome my natural shyness.
The virus has put a bit of a spanner in the works of plans.
 
Definitely around Euro 96 time. If I could go back and live a time again it would be that summer....well probably year.

The weather was amazing and the whole country was football mad. I was 20 and fully 'clobbered' up with nice clothes and an amazing looking GF. Driving my 1L fiesta with a decent paid job and little or no responsibilitys or out goings.

Also went to ibiza in the September. My god it was messy and amazing. I almost had a 6 pack😂

Now I'm past middle aged with a shaved head (due to going bold) and moobs.

I would say between 94 and 98 as my best times. 18-22 with a simple care free life (and heavily into the dance music scene and the things that come with it🤪).

I joined the armed forces in 98. I guess I grew up a little more and made new memories. That said 94-98......it was a roller-coaster 👍
 
Most of my late teens and 20's were a blur of alcohol, ambition and activity. i had great mates, usually had female company at hand and was coveted as a "useful striker" at local level, so would think that might be described as a pomp.
Started to pay for, though not necessarily regret, those indulgences, so life is now much more sedate and have to "manage" my mind, behaviours and mental exhaustion.
Can see a brighter future, and now very happy to quietly sit in the background as my kids create their own paths
