When has that happened before amazing

I'm pretty sure the winner was in the last minute. It was a very hot day. The headline in the Sports Gazette, which I have a copy of somewhere, was literally, "Phew! What a scorcher!"

Yeah, the Festa goal was with about 10 minutes left. Rav's was in injury time.

I can think of 2 matches with 2 injury time goals that went against us: Palace in the Simod cup when Coops put us 2-1 up in the 89th minute, and of course Fulham in Maccarone's home debut.

I seem to remember David Mills (2nd spell at Boro) scoring two stoppage time goals to win us an away game 2-1 back in the early 80's. Can't remember who it was against though.

Last minute winners are one of those great but seemingly rare things in football. Late goals are intrinsically imbued with a significant sliding doors type intrigue. It’s probably one of those moments that stick with you as a supporter. Going back in time remember Mogga grabbing a last ditch winner at Newport in 1986 and the Boro end going mad.

More recently Adam Forshaw’s bonkers goal against Reading in 2016 in injury time and of course how can we not forget Massimo against Steau.

Have we done it when conceding so late ourselves. Am struggling to recall Something as remarkable as last night.
Like the sliding doors comment Cardiff.

Two Slaven goals in the last minute at Oxford in 1991 to change it from 1-0 to 1-2.
Not quite true Capy. Slaven scored in the 87th and 90th min to make it 2-0. Then oxford got one back in the 94th.

They were all over us in that match.

The thing about last night was the crushing disappointment of conceding a late equaliser in injury time, but then a minute or two later the elation of the winner, does not get much better than that!

Yeah, you are right. I remember watching it on teletext in a pub. It went straight from 0-0 to 1-2.

Not a last minute winner or loss, but the worst I ever felt at the death of a match was when I left the Holgate end a couple of minutes before the whistle with the Boro winning 3-1against the jawdees.

As I went past the Clive Rd corner the Mugs sat on the back wall started celebration, so I thought they'd pulled a goal back.

It was only when I got home I realised it finished. 3's each.

That'll learn me for leaving a match early, like 😭

Still remember the pain of that.

First game of the season and Ravanelli's last game for us I think?
It felt as though Robbo only kept him here and made him play in that match to finally show him who was boss.

My goto memory for late winners was against WHam when we trailed for most of the game and Bernie scored twice at the death for a most unexpected 3 points. Long long time ago.
Nearly got lynched that night, but a great memory to have been there. One of several adventurous walks to the tube station over those years.

When that happens it can often lead to something special later . Following it up with a result against Sheffield will make a huge difference as well .

yeah me too brutal
